Sap/Sep/Sip/Sop/Sup
“‘S’up?”
“Sap?”
“Nah, it’s winter. How’s the soup?”
‘SIP’ “Sipped”
“And the bread?”
‘SLURP’ “Sopped.”
“The tab?”
Diner leaves the cafe quickly and shouts, “SEP!”
Waiter shouts back, “What’s that mean?”
Teen on a cell nearby mumbles, “Somebody Else’s Problem.”
You can find others using this theme once you check in on Linda G. Hill’s site. Some are far more clever than mine.
How about a few knitted projects to add some visual interest?
Loomed mostly flat-wrap knit with e-wrapped portions.
Needle knitted
Both sets loom knitted. I think this was a Loom a Hat pattern. It was so easy and I loved these slippers so much I almost kept them. They were SO soft. I think someone will love them as much as I did.
I love making these tiny comfort dolls. It is one of Loom a Hat’s patterns I have memorized so that I don’t have to read a pattern or watch YouTube.
My ADD Saturday Stream is taking me to the next binge. UnReal on Hulu. I hate reality shows. First of all, you know they aren’t, right? Real, I mean. This show gives ideas as to how unreal these shows are. Yet this show has interesting writing. I like how the topics are current and addressed in creative, if not, horrible ways. Have you watched it? What did you think?
Oh, and yesterday I started on the Better Call Saul. Funny, mostly.
I watch UnReal with my husband as we seek something interesting while TV goes on hiatus. Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, I watch in the living room during the day and my brother and son join me. Shows I really like, the guys don’t, so when I need alone time I’ll pull out a feminist movie and watch them all seek out their own entertainment. If I need more bodies in the living room to keep it warm put on a guy show. Crazy how that works! 😉
The wind is blowing in a storm. We are expecting snow tomorrow. The noise outside is crazy! I expect to see a witch riding a bicycle by the window at any moment. I took poor Kali out a while ago and she nearly crashed into the door as I tried to hold it open against the gale. Hey. Have you noticed that? Dorothy Gale got taken in the tornado!
Okay, it’s late enough that the stream of consciousness is overpowering me. Flood of consciousness more like.
Your knitted projects are nice, I don’t know how to knit, I can barely crochet! I watched some of BB but never finished it, I should binge watch it from start to finish some day. I couldn’t get into Better Call Saul, but I did watch the whole season of Sons of Anarchy….a very rough show. Then I finally listened to my youngest and got on board with The Walking Dead. It was so good!! But then, I’ve always gravitated to horror, suspense, crime dramas, etc. have a great Sunday!
YouTube is my best friend. I knew how to crochet since i was 12. My aunts taught my cousins and me to crochet and a little knit. But crochet took over. Then as arthritis took over in my 50s I had to slow it down. Then I moved here and the lady who leads the charity group I knit for taught me the basics of loom knitting. That didn’t hurt as much. And if I work on multiple projects my hands don’t hurt. I learned beyond the basics and even got better at needle knitting. Binging is about the only way I like to watch things. No commercials or wait for a week to see what happens. And give me the director’s cut. Show me Talking Dead or Talking Bad and I love it! I haven’t tried Sons of Anarchy. I never was into horror or suspense. Sci-fi or drama that includes people who grow. But now I am beginning to like some horror and suspense. Did you see the Bird Box? You have a great Sunday!
No, but I keep hearing a lot about it. Once I finish Between, maybe I’ll check that out. Oh, and I watched all of the seasons so far of Orange is the New Black. Rough, funny, touching, all of that but also be prepared for lots of women on women because the whole series is about a female prison. I just had to ignore that for the most part and concentrate on the story line. It’s fantastic.
I think I’ve watched Between but can’t remember. OitNB caught up. Have you watched the Australian version on Netflix? For the life of me I can’t remember the title. It seems darker and sometimes weirder but it is the same kind of character development that Orange gives. I prefer women themed shows as in my 69 years those have been very few.
Is it Wentworth? Dave looked it up for me.
Yes, that’s it! I had too many tabs open to try and look it up. (Slow computer!) I like watching the English and Australian versions of American shows.
We are watching one called Safe right now
I’ll have to look that one up.
A flood of consciousness served you (and us) well. I love the intro, so cute — and the little white mittens. I frequently read through the violent action movies my husband enjoys. Truly though, anything any of us watch in the living room, he gets completely sucked in.
Thank you. I felt I should have done it script form but since isn’t supposed to be ‘streamy’, stopping and rearranging seemed against the ‘rules’. Violent movies send me into a nap or reading or drawing. I try to watch now that I am more into how did they film this?, how did the actor/actress manage that? rather than get into the anger or rage that those scenes portray. It helps. I have tried to train myself to watch during the parts I used to ignore. Now the knitting or other distraction happen at more boring parts. I never used to be the one drawn into whatever’s on but my writing has made me see that anything is a muse or lesson for later. Moreover, I like it when we all can watch something together.
Sounds like you’ve found your balance there 🙂
For a moment…
