This is a great book to help inspire physical fitness. The author has a way to help pep up the reader to follow-through and get started. There are helpfull hints along the way, that might even inspire running.

Kindle text-to-speech helped me through the book that I finished in less than an hour. Now to get started walking again.

50 Things to Know About Getting Free Stuff to Review: Understanding What it Takes to Get Offers (50 Things to Know About Life, Relationships, and ... Adults: Practical Guides for Everyday Life)50 Things to Know About Getting Free Stuff to Review: Understanding What it Takes to Get Offers by Susan Kinchen
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Do you want to review stuff on your blog? This will give you some ideas for doing just that. At least to start.

Though I love reviewing items, this book makes it feel like a full-time job, and I am retired for a reason. And this feels like it is for monetary gain. That’s fine, too. Who doesn’t want a little more income? But I don’t feel I need to add more stuff to my home or work so hard for it. Still, these ideas may work for others.

It only took less than an hour to read. That should spark a creative flash or two.

I will keep this Kindle book for reference. Just in case I need ideas.

Last Twilight in ParisLast Twilight in Paris by Pam Jenoff
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Pam Jenoff wrote a beautiful book. Thรฉrรจse Plummer and Saskia Maarleveld brought even more life to the book through their narration.

This book moves in time from one woman in the early 1950s to a previous time during World War II, and another young woman finding her way at that time.

When I read WWII fiction and nonfiction, I like seeing the characters before, during, and after the war. I love seeing relationships and friendships forming at such a fearful time. I love seeing how love and care can survive the worst possible situations. This book embodies that love and hope.

Searching through Libby after finishing one book, this book was suggested. I am grateful.

The Calamity ClubThe Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

At first, I didn’t like this book. The narrators gradually brought me to an far different conclusion. Jenna Lamia, January LaVoy played the young girl (Meg) and the woman (Birdie) main characters repectively.

One has to keep in mind the time was around the depression and females were to only be found in the kitchen. What happened to girls in the ophanage? Meg was especially unfortunate. But she was tough and intelligent. She learns to survive in a hateful place.

Birdie learns how to get out of the kitchen and into life and caring for everyone beyond her home.

I loved watching the characters grow. Kathryn Stockett wrote a book that felt like real life.

Libby supplied this audiobook. If you get the chance give it a read.

Review: Awoken by Sarah Noffke

Awoken (The Lucidites, #1)Awoken by Sarah Noffke
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book has been on my Currently Reading shelf since 2014! No, I wasn’t reading it this whole time. I was trying to remind myself to read it soon. But other books jumped in the way. I decided to read the older books on the list more often than the new books to start cleaning up the list. Actually, I started this book a couple of nights ago.

At 76, I think I am over YA. I believe that other people who are younger and love paranormal stories where the young person becomes the superhero will love this series.

Text-to-speech read the book to me. It worked well. Because of it, I felt Sarah Noffke writing superb. The characters were fun. The read was short and light. I hope others will try this book and the series.

The Keeper of Hidden BooksThe Keeper of Hidden Books by Madeline Martin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Of the fictional Holocaust books I have read, this might be my favorite. How could it not? Libraries and books clubs and protection of the books, and people. All that and the intrigue of war, keeps the reader engaged. Saskia Maarleveld narrates Madeline Martin’s well-written story.

The characters are alive, making the reader feel they are flesh and blood; friends we care about.

Libby has this book, but I will have to buy my own copy. I know I will read it again and again.

Storm Front [Dramatized Adaptation] (Dresden Files, #1)Storm Front [Dramatized Adaptation] by Graphic Audio
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A decade or so ago, I read several of The Dresden Files. They were fun books. The mixture of detective gumshoe with fantasy vibes made this series of books exceptional.

Oh, but wait until you listen to the Graphic Audio, Dramatized Adaptation of the first book in the series.

I couldn’t listen at bedtime. Too much action, a little too graphic of the monsters. But, whew! It was quite the ride.

If you get the chance to pick it up o Audible or borrow it from the library, you won’t regret it. Have fun!

The Piano Teacher of Montparnasse: The heartbreaking new novel from the bestselling author of The Tattooist of AuschwitzThe Piano Teacher of Montparnasse: The heartbreaking new novel from the bestselling author of The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It took me too long to read this book. But it wasn’t the book’s fault. I was ill. And there is one of the beauties of the story. Even when I couldn’t get back to it the characters pulled me in and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. I will be buying the Audiobook as I want to enjoy it again.

Love of family and friends who become family, is what the book is about. With the dangers everywhere from Nazis, starvation, and in all, love and care is shown.

I am grateful to received this book from NetGalley. With Kindle I could listen to it with text-to-speech. Heather Morris wrote The Tattooist of Auschwitz and the other two books of that trio. I loved reading them, so I knew this would be as good if not better. And there was more, music, piano, teachers and students. I loved it.

Broken CountryBroken Country by Clare Leslie Hall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Clare Leslie Hall has written a story full of relationships, fully developed characters, children, and animals. And if you think you know who the bad guys and who the good guys are, you’ll see both in each.

Hattie Morahan narrates the story quite well.

I picked up this audiobook on Libby.

Here’s the thing though, I saw the cover days after I finished the book and couldn’t remember anything. I read the blurb and when it mention the shooting of the dog I remembered the whole book. I loved it!

My FriendsMy Friends by Fredrik Backman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fredrik Backman wrote a Man Called Ove which became a movie called A Man Called Otto. Both the book and the movie were wonderful character development stories. So, guess what? Yes, ‘My Friends’ has even querkier characters grow as we watch the story unfold.

As if the story didn’t come alive with the written word, Marin Ireland (Narrator), make brings the listener to the dock to enjoy being a teen on summer break.

I hope you all get a chance to read/listen to this book. It is on Libby.
