Cleaning a closet and calligraphy take me down Memory Lane.
A different kind of journey.
Yes, this #1liner needs an explanation. I got this calligraphy set when my youngest was maybe twelvish? The green lettering was my practice from long ago. Then you see the Hey, Mickey y… hey Mickey. Then the Lilith, Vampire, etc. Yep, my daughter’s. There were several other names and work that surprised and amused me. Probably too personal to share names. But my BFF’s (since sixth grade) daughter has a page as do my son who was very gothic in his day, and a student from the school I was fortunate to teach at had a sample. Aw! Memories! Oh! That l o g o was not me spelling something. that is today’s practice at downstrokes and ovals.
I’ve decided I need to start writing by hand and making my own stationery, etc. It’s the result of the newest ‘what if’ that hit me. What if the internet goes away and I need to get back into writing by hand? What if we need to use the mail system more. Besides, I love getting mail. I need to get busy and send my favorite people my notes because I love them! Hence calligraphy practice. I hope to include more artwork in my day along with all the knitting. Just because.
This was the extended version of One-Liner Wednesday, brought to us by the ever-talented, Linda G. Hill.
It’s finds like these that slow my cleanup progress WAY down. 😉
I know, right?!
Writing by hand ? I think I would have difficulties, I am not writing quick enough, typing is better !
Typing might be one way to take a step back. I’m into the art of cursive or calligraphy. I don’t have the patience to wait for paint to dry. So drawing and writing are my go-to.
You were better at it than I was….
I doubt that! 😎
Calligraphy is so pretty. I’ve tried a little of it, and I do like writing by hand. Isn’t it great to come across stored away memories like this! 🙂
I can’t wait until hand-writing and hand-lettering and drawing are part my daily habits. Yes, on the found jewels. I remember finding a grocery list my mom had written long after she passed, and tearing up. Hand writing seems so close to the soul. Does that make sense?
I think you’re right about that. And, everyone’s handwriting looks different. I could always know immediately who a letter was from just by the handwriting. 🙂
😀👍
A very interesting one liner it is 💜
Thanks!

I always enjoyed calligraphy. I still buy the felt tip calligraphy pen I first purchased in the 80s. I like them because similar results but not all the parts and pieces, plays hell with my arthritic hands. I still write letters and send them through the mail. You totally should, cause there’s nothing like REAL tangible mail from a loved one ❤
I think that is cool that you do a lot of handwritten correspondence, And that you do calligraphy. I have that old kind of pen that have the nib and the cartridge. I do plan to get other types as the scrapping sound the nib makes causes chills down my backbone like nails on the chalkboard. 🙂
Yeah, check out the felt tip pens / markers — I like Artline and Creativ
Thanks for the advice! I’ll look them up!
