Where Did the Day Go?
My first hat on the Flexee Loom. Just off the loom.
I used this method of decrease for the crown of the hat:
But with the Flexee loom, I could decrease further. I started with 80 pegs as the instruction for an adult hat on the enclosed page. I think that I should have made a few more rows to fit my size adult but I was anxious to see how it would work. So I did all the decreases per the video then moved the loops around to remove links of two every other grouping. In the first case, it was all the lighter color links. Then I did the decreases from the beginning with the video again. Again, at the end, I move the stitches around so as to remove every other link. I followed the video one more time and this time finished as Kristen suggests. I love how the crown looks.
Ah, look at the time! I think we are heading for Monday. I barely remember watching Sunday Morning. Hence the answer to #WDIIA and #WTIIA.
I love the way you have made that hat! This seems so much easier than knitting with needles, probably kinder to your hands too…
I think loom-knitting is easier yet the product is as nice as needle-knitted. It is so much easier for my hands. And I have a lot of projects going so I am not doing the same motions all the time.
That looks great, and very soft too! Is it going to your charity? Maybe you could share the link to it so more people could make hats the charity. 😊
Thank you. It is soft. I love the yarn for this one. The charity is local. The hats go to nearby towns. I don’t think we have a website. I suppose that Friends of the Library of Christmas Valley is where we all drop off our projects. I just realized I was saying it backward. It is Hugger Hat. If you like I have a phone number. But I do know there are tons of charities for hats and items of comfort all over the globe. I would type into Google or FaceBook searches for hat charities. I belong to quite a few of them just to learn how others work with their communities.
Thank you! That’s so cool. It’s your way of giving back, I suppose volunteering is mine. If I was a better crocheter, I’d do that. But I could post some for anyone else wanting to sew hats for charity 😊
I will try to find a few charities to pass along It’s cool that you can volunteer. The fibro is so unpredictable that I can’t sign up for anything. And often I think I’m getting sick. I may realise that it is a flare but I wouldn’t want to take a chance of ‘sharing’. So, yes, this is something I can do. And there’s no pressure, deadlines, or quotas. 💜
Right! That makes it nice!
