I had tried Continental Knitting before. I found it nice to have a change for my hands. But I noticed a big difference between the tension of either knitting style. I’m not sure what the right-handed style I learned as a kid is called. But I will say, Continental is more like how one holds fabric when crocheting.
Here’s my first practice piece front and back. The first two rows were the right hand method of purling. The rest is knit back and forth. Front, knit. Back, purl. I think that makes the stocking knit stitch. I need lots more practice.

The following is one of the YouTube tutorials I’m watching.

I’ll watch the video tomorrow, maybe this is something I can try!
After I saw (oops, forgot his name) do the scoop I had it. That scoop is so easy and fast. And now I can trade hands so I don’t get Repetitive Motion Syndrome. Hey, small coasters or toys take little room for busy hands.🤗
I never thought I would see you using old fashioned knitting needles… and then I saw they weren’t! I will have to watch the video to see how it works…
I do own and have worked with my needles given to me by my grandmother, mother, and aunts. A couple are ivory or bone. Can’t get any more old fashioned. The cables in the picture were my first cables I bought from Wish. They work for practice. They are bamboo and plastic. The kind the guy uses in the video are like the Double Pointed needles I recently bought at the yarn store. I think, at this point, I could knit with sticks in the yard. It’s cool to know that if everything breaks down, I can find something to do that might be useful.😂🧶❤️
It seems to be a dying art, so good to keep it going…🧶🪡
I don’t think that is the case. Many actresses have spoken on talk shows that their go-to hobby is knitting. Kelly Ripa just finished a scarf and bragged about it on the show. Not dying. Being rediscovered. 😀
I have just remembered, we have Tom Daly the diver, he loves to knit too!
It’s therapuetic! ;-D
It has to be the only time I can think clearly…
It does make you stay present.
I sometimes think its because when our brains think we are busy, they leave us alone to think clearly!
Sounds good to me.
And, yes, I hope you enjoy the video.🤗
