Eruption by Michael Crichton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Scott Brick’s overacted narration kind of ruined this experience for me. BUT I could see this as a movie!
This is the kind of story you expect from Michael Crichton. The research on volcanoes was evident without being preachy or pedantic. As expected, the story kept me on edge, worried about the characters and the island.
May I say I hope this never happens to anyone. It is a scary concept. But it’s a super book and hopefully a great disaster movie.

I never read any of his books, not sure I’d like it! Xo
This was by Michael Crichton, his last book before he passed. His widower found all the bits and pieces and asked James Patterson to write the finished product. I thought seeing these two famous writers’ work in one spot might be interesting. Since I recently read Jurassic Park, I had an idea of Crichton’s work, and I read The Stand ages ago, so I remember a bit about how Patterson wrote. It is a bit of a thriller, so I had to watch when to read to prevent nightmares. Still, I bet the movie will be much better if they ever make it.
It’s not my favorite kind of book and I only recently got into scarier novels. So no problem if you don’t read it. They are faster reads than the ones you have to soak in and enjoy all the subtleties, but not for everyone for sure. XO
Is it not a movie? I’ve never read any of his books but I’ve seen lots of his movies.
This is the book Michael Crichton was writing when he passed. His widow found all the work he’d put together then asked James Patterson to finish the book. This just came out. I only recently read Jurassic Park. The movies are better as they’ve added so much more layers of suspense and enlarged the world of one book to, what, 5? movies? Can’t wait to see this made into a movie.🤗
I think I’ve missed this one. Will look for it. Thanks
It’s new. Let me know what you think! 🤗
I will when I find it
