*I’ve mentioned how I’m a talker. My grandmother called me Chatty Cathy.
I learned finger spelling so I could talk to my fellow soprano in the church choir. For those that are fingerspelling challenged it says: Inhale the future; Exhale the past.
What is chatting but exhaling with consonants?

I learned some sign language when we lived in Austin in an apartment and our neighbor’s child was deaf. She taught me the little I know.
It’s always fun when you find you need it. I was at a grocery store and needed yams instead of sweet potatoes, it the other way round. Nobody could help me. A man came out to refill a bin. I learned he was deaf. So I slowly finger spelled my need. (My spelling is so much slower now that I don’t use it often). He went and got a bag full for me. I signed thank you, one of the few actual signs I do know and he beamed. It felt nice to know I could help someone feel seen. Everyone seemed to ignore him. Since then I want to improve that language, too.
You are a superstar!
Aww, thanks! ❤️🤗
