Remember this from yesterday?

Well, there was more to that story. My husband tried to capture the picture from the door of the creature in the driveway.

This morning the creature was right across the street.

I tried not to think about it. But then as it started snowing again, and I started to take a picture of our front porch, I saw yellow.

Look who came to visit!

That same creature. What is it? You may ask. I did. I went to the door and this is who I found:

I don’t trust that innocent smile, do you? We sent him back home. Told him next time bring cookies!

Meanwhile, the snow continues icing the view.

And I continue to knit.

Believe it or not, the socks and hat are of the same yarn. Lessons in shadows and light, I suppose. Patterns for both hat and socks came with the small gauge baby KB looms.

I don’t know why but this prompt is bringing this ole castor bean back up. I don’t have time to go look it up (I did anyway!) but I’m sure if I’m wrong someone will let me know. It is something my dad use to pull around us kids. He’d asked what the name of the great falls was. Yeah, we knew the job was dangerous when we took it.

Answer: (Just get it over with) Niagra Falls.

(I can hear every baby boomer out there already reciting.)

Dad: Niagra Falls. (He’d look at as with crazy eyes.) Slowly I turned. (he’d turn and walk slowly toward us) Step by step.

By now we are over trying to be cool and giggling nearly uncontrollably. Dad was the sense of humor in our house, in our church, at work, everywhere. I do miss him.

By the way, I believe that was from the Three Stooges.

I couldn’t resist. I had to look it up. And look what I found!

And

What was that all about? Ah, those crazy people in the fifties!

Hopefully, by now, you’ve heard the prompt a bunch of times. “Inch by inch.”

Jot It and Prompt: Thanks, John!

By the way, if you copy and paste that middle one into your browser it should bring up YouTube with Abbott and Costello. I don’t know why it didn’t just form here–and maybe it will and my computer is just being weird, again.

Review: The Pickup Pros

The Pickup Pros
The Pickup Pros by Maria-Foteini Alevizou
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a cute little comic book by a young physicist that seems to have had experience in the field she is writing. 😉 Though I didn’t find myself rolling on the floor in laughter I can remember what it was like as a young woman. I think this might be even more fun in paper form, but on Kindle Fire or the Tablet it is visually entertaining. Try it, you might like it.

If William Shakespeare Had Written Star Wars | Brain Pickings. I just read this in my Paper.li (which will be out as soon as I finish editing.) This is so much fun! It made me think of how writing in someone else’s style helps us improve our own writing.
