Thus Thursday

Spent the day bingeing and knitting.
I’m rewatching Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Just finished Justine. Meh.

Kim Convenience was different.

Oh, I rewatched Outlander to be ready when the new season begins.

Sock one of four is nearly ready to find a foot.

My circular needle socks suddenly seemed inside out so I frogged and started over. I’ll get it yet. This time I nearly reached the heel part. That’s progress!

How was yours?

One-liner Wednesday

Four at a time socks nearly finished. (I don’t think I’ll knit them on the ‘X-Wing’ again. Too unwieldy)

One-liner Wednesday brought to you by Linda G. Hill.

Finished these:

And tonight I will finish these:

The top ones are so soft and thin, they make my hands and feet melt in coziness. The bottom ones are just in time for the end of winter.

I still have three pairs of socks on looms and a practice pair on my circular needles.

My favorite and most easy break-fast brunch.

Salmon sprinkled with lemon pepper, olive oil, Bragg’s vinegar,  smothered in baby spinach and cheese. Love! Please tell me this is not bad for me.

Too funny but true

Yep.

  1. The dumbest thing I ever bought was a 2020 planner.
  2. I was so bored I called Jake from State Farm just to talk to someone. He asked me what I was wearing.
  3. 2019: Stay away from negative people. 2020: Stay away from positive people.
  4. The world has turned upside down. Old folks are sneaking out of the house & their kids are yelling at them to stay indoors!
  5. This morning I saw a neighbor talking to her cat. It was obvious she thought her cat understood her. I came into my house & told my dog. We laughed a lot.
  6. Every few days try your jeans on just to make sure they fit. Pajamas will have you believe all is well in the kingdom.
  7. Does anyone know if we can take showers yet or should we just keep washing our hands?

It snowed a couple of days ago. Real snow. Not the spit in the morning and mud by noon kind. Here are some pics I took then.

One of our mesquite bushes covered with snow.

Two inches on the rails and the post.

Our truck and car covered in snow as seen through the good-luck plant (thank you, Rizza) through our kitchen window. So beautiful everything covered and didn’t melt to mud.

It didn’t snow through the night,

Though the coyotes howled nearby.

A cold fog came early this morning.

It powdered everything so beautifully.

The mesquite was covered in snow and frost.

With the snow, the beauty is limitless.

In fact, you might think the sky is the limit:

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “sky’s the limit.” Write about something that has or seems to have no end. Enjoy!

After you’ve written your Saturday post tomorrow, please link it here at this week’s prompt page and check to make sure it’s here in the comments so others can find it and see your awesome post. Anyone can join in!

To make your post more visible, use our SoCS badge! Just paste it in your Saturday post, so people browsing the reader will immediately know your post is stream of consciousness and/or pin it as a widget to your site to show you’re a participant. Wear it with pride!!

2019-2020 SoCS Badge by Shelley! https://www.quaintrevival.com/

You can also use the Just Jot it January badge! To find the rules for Just Jot it January, click here.

Here are the rules for SoCS:

1. Your post must be stream of consciousness writing, meaning no editing, (typos can be fixed) and minimal planning on what you’re going to write.

2. Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be. One sentence – one thousand words. Fact, fiction, poetry – it doesn’t matter. Just let the words carry you along until you’re ready to stop.

3. There will be a prompt every week. I will post the prompt here on my blog on Friday, along with a reminder for you to join in. The prompt will be one random thing, but it will not be a subject. For instance, I will not say “Write about dogs”; the prompt will be more like, “Make your first sentence a question,” “Begin with the word ‘The’,” or simply a single word to get your started.

4. Ping back! It’s important so that I and other people can come and read your post! For example, in your post, you can write “This post is part of SoCS:” and then copy and paste the URL found in your address bar at the top of this post into yours.  Your link will show up in my comments for everyone to see. The most recent pingbacks will be found at the top. NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, such as Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.

5. Read at least one other person’s blog who has linked back their post. Even better, read everyone’s! If you’re the first person to link back, you can check back later, or go to the previous week, by following my category, “Stream of Consciousness Saturday,” which you’ll find right below the “Like” button on my post.

6. Copy and paste the rules (if you’d like to) in your post. The more people who join in, the more new bloggers you’ll meet and the bigger your community will get!

7. As a suggestion, tag your post “SoCS” and/or “#SoCS” for more exposure and more views.

8. Have fun!

Magic Monday

More slipper socks finished late last night. I started the next pair but I’m afraid I may not have enough of that yarn.

This is a mesquite Bush out near our driveway. That is not snow. We’ve had a thick freezing fog and all the plants, even the weeds look like magical beings.

🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️🐉🤗😁

Hope you had a magical Monday, too!

Monday Makings

Three hats, a earwarmer convertible fingerless mittens.
And four socks. Busy. Busy, Busy!

Monday

Fibro fog has found me again. So tired and achy. I’m sure I’ll be fine. But I couldn’t even find the energy to attend the writers group on zoom. Is it the change of seasons affecting me? We do have to drip faucets tonight as it reaches 32 tonight. Sleep well, world. See you tomorrow.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “new/old.” Use either or both of the words “new and old” any way you’d like. Bonus points for starting and ending with either one. Have fun!

I do not like the new blocking system. I don’t know how to add pictures or anything else. Bring back the old system.
