Per Linda: Your prompt for JusJoJan January 19th, 2026 is “consistency.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

“Our prompt today is courtesy of running enthusiast Warren. Thank you, Warren! Please be sure to visit Warren’s blog to read his posts and say hello. And follow him while you’re there if you’re not already.”

Warren talks about one day at a time as he tries to get healthier.

He’s right. I have found the same truth. Not just for physical fitness. It has worked for me with piano, writing, Duolingo, and more. Consistency creates improvement.

That doesn’t mean that you can’t take a day or so off. But after the weekend, after COVID,get back to it. Maybe you need to take it slower or more gentle, but every bit you do counts.

Often being consistent with rests adds to proficiency. I have found my work continues in my sleep, dreams, in allowing muscle memory to renew without me.

This whole topic is so fascinating to me. It is the reason I keep trying to look at other bits of my life I’d like to improve, or things I want to learn. I think one can cram a lot of better when aim is consistent.
