Not Quite Finished

By the end of the night, I will have finished this next hat. But I don’t have time to blog and knit to get the job on either properly. So here it is on the loom.

I do wish the pretty colors showed up better. They are all shiny. That is lavender, black, and pink. I’ll describe the process and name the yarn tomorrow. I need to get it done.

I hope you are all having a great Thursday!

Tuesday’s Ta Da

Finished. A convertible hat. Hehe.

Caron, Simply Soft, Soft Pink, Orchid, Black. on the KB Fine Gauge, 72 peg loom. The white one. The brim is four by four, rib stitch. The rest is e-wrapped. The camera on my phone just doesn’t pick up the pretty pastel colors. This one is a gift for a friend.

Another Sh-h-h But Finished! Yay!

I love this sort of scrappy hat. The colors called to me and I just knitted them in.

Oh, the yarn is just acrylic. I had very little turquoise so I used it sparingly. This is knitted on the white KB (72 peg) fine gauge.  One-by-one brim. then according to the tension, I used the flat-knit, u-knit, or e-wrap. I used the Russian join to change colors. It turned out kind of small for my head but I think it will fit a friend. Sh-h-h! (Sorry for blurry or dark pictures. I blame the photographer-me.)

Satisfying Sunday

Finished today:

As you can see, I used the green Knifty Knitter. Which made the hat for a smaller adult than me. Or Teen. I made the brim and a few of the bumpy-outy spots using the e-wrap/purl combo that makes a one-row garter stitch. Then flat knit stitch. This was of scraps blending two strands and changing out to another combo as I got the notion. Just in time for the Meeting tomorrow. 🙂

Finished Friday

Finally a hat for me!

And, yes that us The Walkin Dead season 6 in the background.

Oh, that’s a KB, small gauge, 80 peg, adult size, orange loom. Two-by-two, knit, purl, brim. The yarn, Bernat Pipsqueak Stripes, is so soft and fluffy, you can’t see the stitches. The rest is flat knit stitch. I made it big enough to fold up the brim. Can’t wait to wear it!

I had hoped to be finished with these two project by today. Oh, well. I love the soft yarn, Bernard Pipsqueak. I’m making a small adult hat. The other is a slipper sock of Sugar and Cream cotton purple for cuff and for the rest of the sock a combination of blues and purples. Ah, well, maybe next week I will be finished with these.

Transcendent

I wonder if the opposite of transcendent is a nap? There were so many things to rise above today that all I could do was nap.

The story from yesterday about hubby’s fall and messed up arm? Yeah, well the doctor says his shoulder is broken and has two good sized chips. Trouble is we still don’t know if surgery will be what he needs. All we know is that he is in horrible pain and is helpless on many counts. Thank goodness for Vicoden. We won’t know until Monday or Tuesday what the next step would be. Meanwhile, the two trips to town wore us both down. Even though I don’t go, the trip requires an early wake-up. I needed to get up and help him get ready to do.

I feel badly not going. But the trip kills me. I mentioned that before. But if he has to go to Portland at the other end of the state, how would I manage that? And would there be any accommodations for me? And who will take care of the separation-anxiety- grandpup?

And we got more snow today that has enough time to melt a bit and then became more ice. It is impossible to walk outside our home. Poor Kali is on her own for those very quick trips for relief.

So I stayed inside and made another hat:

And then all the world shattering events today. Is there a possibility to be transcendent? Now that it is 10 PM all I can think is when can I go to sleep?
