A Wrinkle In Time: one of my all time favorite books
I loved the whole series. Thanks for the comment.
I’ve had the same copy of A Wrinkle In Time since high school (over 35 years ago) and have read it many many times. I have read the others in the series, but not nearly as often. I’ve read A Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy but have yet to make it past book two. I once had a copy of Dune but never read it, and I tried The Hobbit, but couldn’t stay with it long enough to finish. But that was all years ago. I once (back in the 80’s) belonged to a fantasy/sci-fi book club and got a few books to read.
Sounds like we’ve had the same books in our homes for about the same amount of time. I haven’t gotten past the first Hitchhiker’s Guide. Had Dune but never read it. I didn’t like Lord of the Rings or Hobbit because it was all about men and fighting. It just bored me. But the Hobbit was the first book my son ever read. From primers straight to Hobbit. He still loves it (he’s 45 now). Most of the books I read as a kid were sci-fi. hardly any were about women or even worlds where half the characters are women. I didn’t notice it because that’s all there was. Now I work really hard to seek out books (especially sci-fi) by women with strong or growing women main characters.
