Buzzy

No, not the sound of a bee. I mean extremely busy! But somehow that doesn’t hold the strength of the energy of my days of late. And they always say ‘busy as a bee,’ so thereby I suggest we use BUZZY for this purpose. What do you think?

I’m back on the laptop. That makes my eyes happy. But after all the scans and utilities that were run, the internet is so darn slow that I find myself walking away and doing other things while it decides to do what I asked. Maybe because we are in the middle of Oregon Outback, maybe because everyone is using far more internet than ever before. Whatever the reason I am sick of it. I write whole paragraphs that don’t show up for a long time. While waiting I can knit whole rows.

In fact, the screen just went black, except for the taskbar so now I’m writing from my phone. At least it can keep up with me.

But the phone is harder to see and navigate. Oh, grrr!

Where did my stream go?

I decided that we needed some dishcloths. So I ordered Scrubby Cotton yarn. My plan was to mix it with regular cotton yarn. But I can’t find those skeins. So I’m clearing clutter. Still no cotton yarn. But things are getting cleaner.

Giving up on the cotton, I decided to just use the Scrubby stuff. It isn’t nice on the hands. I’m learning a new pattern. That’s fun.

All the while, and in between tutorials and fuzzy internets, The Stand is being read to me.

My eyes are begging for some zzz’s. So I better put the phone and blog away. That’s as far as the stream will take me today.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “zz.” Find a word with double-z in it and use it in your post. Enjoy!

So the laptop is still getting scans. So I’ll have to blog a quickie.

Trash, check.

Knitting charity socks. Check

Finished watching Another Life. Check. I can’t wait for season two. Here is a link to the trailer (I hope)

Spent most of the day listening to the library audio of The Stand. It is due back in eight days.

Everyone here is fine. We’re trying to find the bright side of life.

How are you all doing?

Hopefully, I will have my computer back tomorrow.

So the trash is out for tomorrow. The weather is finally warming up. Laptop is going through utilities, etc. So a quick check in to let you know we’re okay. Hugs to all of you. Blogging from cell is not easy on my eyes. Know that I care. Back to knitting and other crafty fun.

One-Liner Wednesday #WDIIA

After days of rain and cold, this was a clear-skied sunset.

Yeah. It’s still cold. Blurry is due to shivering. 35 degrees tonight.

Again, a very busy day so I haven’t much to show. Tomorrow I will be getting envelopes ready for the mail. I’ll take pictures before I send them. But I won’t be able to show you until the posted goods reach their recipients.

One-Liner Wednesdays are an easy fun prompt given to us by Linda G. Hill. Check out her blog!

This past couple of weeks, I have been watching Madam Secretary. It was a mostly calm way to keep my sanity.

I hope that opens. The internet is driving me crazy. Anyway, I don't know if I can say it was the best show. But it did have a calming affect on my nerves and gave me a place to set my eyes when not knitting.

Now I am on to the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for the next season.

It is more fun with a lot of music that brings me back.

Carpenters had it right. Especially if fibromyalgia stabs the body and brain. Rainy days and Mondays. It started that way and never got better. I’m sorry for not having anything to say. A person should have a working brain to say something. Why am I hearing a scarecrow singing and dancing?

I hope your day was better. I’m aiming for back to bed.

Another busy day and here it is twenty minutes until tomorrow! Yikes! So here are the words you need–It was Sunday. I hope it was good. I hope Monday treats us all better!

Oops! Time has snuck up on me and it is nearly midnight, again. I have been so busy starting new projects that I got lost.

Yes, I’m making another pair of sock, but these will be for Hat Huggers, in other words, for charity. Oh, and I worked on my haircut and am feeling itchy so I may have to cut this short. See what I did there?

Per Linda:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “nail.” Use it as a noun or a verb. Have fun!

Nails, I don’t do them, except keep them clean and not too long. When they get too long they tend to break below the quick and it hurts. On the other hand, giggle, I can’t cut them too short or my fingertips hurt. As a cosmetologist, I used to do my nails all the time. But eventually, I found that the acrylics and even just polish felt heavy on my nails. Weirdly, I feel the same way about hand lotions. Even though I need them more now than ever before, my hands need to get to nearly bloody before I remember to use them. My mother was the same way. What is that? I love a good looking nail and soft beautiful hands.

Oh, no, I just looked at the clock. I have fifteen minutes. So my Stream of Consciousness Saturday is curtailed to a little leak of nonsense. I hope you all had a good Saturday. I think I did. Just so busy I didn’t even notice.

For ten more minutes.

I feel like dancing! Shouting to the rooftops!

I didn’t start out that way this morning. I felt I would never finish the socks and I needed a quick win. So in about an hour, I knitted this little cutie.

Knifty Knitter 24 peg loom. Fold-over brim. Flat knit stitch. Drawstring cast-off. Pom-pom on the smallest pom-pom maker. I think it gave me the juice I needed to finish the socks.

The top pair are for my daughter, the bottom pair are for her boyfriend. Soon to be in the mail to them. Totally made with love. These were made on the KB His (purple) and Hers (orange) sock looms. All four were made toe-up with the Kitchener Cast-on. Flat knit stitch. I varied the cuff in that daughter’s is four-by-four ribbing, and boyfriend’s cuffs are two-by-two ribbing. It was quite a learning experience. I was still feeling the magic as I finished to see that the stripes are so matched that they seem store-bought. I do have enough of this yarn leftover that I can make me a pair, too. But I have other things to finish first.

Much of my time lately is working on a crafty project I hope to give friends. That has me shaky as I have not spent a lot of time, lately, on artsy/craftsy things. But it is fun and I think it will feel more confident as I keep trying. We’ll see.

Meanwhile, I have been experimenting with yarn masks. I have a lighter weight one that I hope to create on that will be comfortable in the summer. I’ve ordered bamboo yarn because it is allergy-free, and has tons of benefits for the wearer.

As a bonus, this was our sunset:

What Day Is It Anyway?

Well, today was exciting. I had contacted our local meteorologist about leaving out our little town, which has its own microclimate. She agreed to include us more and asked for a recent picture of the area.  I sent her this one:

She actually used it today and gave me credit by my written name and she even said it as she offered the hour by hour forecast for us. Well. There are my two seconds of fame. Check.

I wish I could share the craftiness I’ve been up to but I am trying to give my friends some of the fun they have given me in the past and I want it to be a surprise. Needless to say drawing, poetry writing, even in Spanish, Rainbow Loom fun. There is so much more to do and I promise to share when I feel I can. While the gel pens are out I plan to do my coloring.

And I am hoping to finish the boyfriend’s second sock within a couple days.

So soon I will be taking a bunch of stuff to the post office. That should be fun!

On another level, we have the smallest amount of grass growing in front of the house. Mostly our acre is full of sagebrush that has protected our chickens. I’d love to get some of it removed. I can’t, neither can my husband. The younger guys here have issues that keep them from doing it. And we don’t have the money to hire someone so we are stuck with the overrunning sage. I don’t mind the look. Or the smell of sage. But it poses a fire hazard. Still, I ignored the sense of guilt going out into my yard gave me and found myself walking barefoot on the little patches of grass that are freely popping up near our house. My feet were so happy. And the breeze was just right to keep it from being too hot. So I had a moment of heaven.

Yeah, not my foot. My big toe is longer than the second. This was a Pixabay.com. But hopefully, you feel that total comfort of cool grass underfoot. Isn’t it the greatest?

Did I answer, What Day Is It Anyway? No? Well, the trash is at the ‘curb’ That means tomorrow is Friday. And for the next hour and fifteen minutes, it is Thursday. Do I win the prize? No? That’s okay I had a moment of fame!
