My computer is back! Yay! It is lighter weight and so is better for my lap. I had been borrowing my husband’s. That was nice of him and he followed through to find what was wrong and it seems it needed a different charging cord. I haven’t checked out the yWriter and WriteItNow to see if my latest NaNo is up to the last date I worked on it, but I know where I can find the files to get it there.
MY COMPUTER! It is like that most comfortable coat or pair of shoes that when you put them on there is MAGIC.
I couldn’t find a laptop picture that shows my comfort level with my own, lightweight, machine. That one on the bottom left is closest. Except it isn’t a couch but rather a recliner. Not a massaging chair but a place of comfort where I can sit in my favorite position of half-lotus and either lap the laptop or use the foot of the chair as a desk. So a heavy laptop can hurt my legs and then hurt my arms as I move it.
Medical shows are my favorites. While I am writing this I have discovered a new one. Transplant. No, it doesn’t start with M but my Stream seems to migrate to the show. So I’m sharing. I am loving this!
And that brings me back to the happiness of working on MY COMPUTER!
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “starts with ‘m’.” Use any word that begins with the letter “m” as the subject or theme for your post. Enjoy!

I am loving that show as well! I’m glad you got your computer back, I can feel ya on that one, my husband finally got my new keyboard and mouse hooked up so they work properly!
Glad you like Transplant, too. We’re not caught up yet but the characters are well formed. I love the relationship of the siblings. And the boss is so cool.
So sorry you were having computer issues, too. But so happy you found answers.🤗
The computer and the internet are windows to the world. Without it I would not be reading your post 🙂 It is such a nice and important part of life.
The computer and internet are today’s newspaper and evening news of yesterday. I trust with agrain of salt. But I love meeting and getting to know so many more people than we could meet back in paper days. That’s what I miss when not connected through ccyberthreats. 🤗
Another writer friend has a full Mac desktop set up on a swing arm over her recliner. She started to develop issues with the tight keyboard on a laptop and positioning her neck to see. So now, she reclines and has everything perfect :).
I would love something like that. Great idea!
And look! She posted about it: https://valeriecomer.com/my-new-workstation/
Wow! That is a cool set up! Thanks for sharing this. I might have to look into something like that. I am constantly having to enlarge fonts or have things read to me. I think mine is a cataract. Trying to wait for the new year and insurance before looking into it.
Good luck with the eye. Both Colin and my dad had the surgery and it went well. My eyesight is funky so I’m enlarging one day and shrinking the next.
And yes, the setup is cool :).
Chris had it and so did my ex and they are doing so much better than ever, sight-wise. I hope that is what it is and I get the same results. Is that color cellophane thing still helping. I can’t remember what that was called.
Irlen Syndrome and I use colored glasses more than the sheets (which were obnoxious to use in books and I can’t hold the books up anyway). Yes, it still works to help manage both my depth perception issues and migraines. On bad days, taking them off for even a few seconds leaves me nauseated and dizzy. On good days, in dim lighting, I can do okay for a bit as long as I’m not trying to walk.
It won’t help with a cataract, though. The glasses work on light sensitivity (with several causes) but a cataract is blocking your vision. My light sensitivity is so sensitive thanks to my migraines I sometimes need different colors at home and down in the Bay Area because the amount of water in the air and the clarity of sunlight is different.
That is equally painful and fascinating. I’m sorry the migraines continue, especially with your other health issues. But that the glasses can help and that the different atmospheres can affect which glasses you need is amazing. The people who researched this and discovered how it applies individually are commendable. I wish you could find permanent healing. Still you are amazing to me with all you have accomplished.
Actually, the migraines are a part of my type of EDS. The atmosphere thing I figured out when my Irlens specialist no longer came all the way up to Reno. When I went down to Sacramento, the colors came out different and didn’t always work up here. I have kept every color she gave me (it’s like a vision prescription which changes over time) and try to guess which climate will require which color :). It is just another part of the oddity that is me. Most people’s Irlens are not half as complex, nor is their sensitivity so high.
I didn’t realize that. Still, I’m sorry for the pain, yet find the answers that work for you very interesting. Is your synesthesia a part of EDS also?
