Okay, I had to look that up. Finally, a word for it. We’re from So. California and we always called that hail. My husband calls it sleet. Your graupel seems the best answer for that first layer just before snow. I learned something new! Thanks! By the way, it may come on Saturday! 🤞
I only learned about that word a year or so ago, and I’ve been into weather most of my life.
It’s now my favorite! And I think we got a bit today!
