One-Liner Wednesday

A part of Linda’s One-Liner Wednesday.
My husband shared on Facebook.💕 That’s my man!
Mornings

Tuesday

Not much to report today. Tired. But outside of a nice nap to make up for low sleep, I managed to progress on these.

I’ve had my yWriter7 open all day. I’m determined to write something before going to bed tonight.

Finished bath mitt.

I found a cotton sock yarn and started a pair of toes.

I didn’t work on my dragon today. But my progress as of yesterday looked like this.

The house is still standing despite 65mph winds. And electric storm. And once that settled slushy snow played around outside.

Four seasons in a day!

No writing. That may be a morning job. I’ll let you know tomorrow. Guilt isn’t a good motivation.  Music fits in the same category. I need to work out a schedule for these things.

A Breath of Snow and AshesA Breath of Snow and Ashes by Diana Gabaldon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Below is the review from the last time I read/listened to this book. I have re-rated this and given it five stars. I think this reading corresponds with the newest episodes on the show. The last episode I watched was exactly what I had just listened to that day. I love following both the book and the show and seeing how they translate the written word, especially a long book like this, into a show excellently done.

Though I stay with the thought that the narrator, as excellent as she is, for the most part, had a hard time helping the listener to know who’s point of view she was portraying. Still, I followed better this time than the last read.

I highly recommend these books. Like last time, I have already started book 7. Yay, William as a grown-up!

***

Wow! Am I finally finished with this book? It is the longest book I think I have ever read. I don’t think it needs to be that long, either.

Look. Don’t get me wrong. I still love the story, the characters, and the time travel element concept. I just found the length unbearable with the thousands of books on my TBR shelf.

It is fun to explore the early days in America with the characters. I have to admit that I loved the time in Scotland the most, so this book is missing that aspect.

The other problem with this book is that our magical narrator, Divina Porter, couldn’t handle all the characters. Now that Brea is an adult, she sounds like Clair. Now that Roger is an adult, he sounds like Jamie. All the children sound the same. Maybe if I could read simultaneously as listening, I could sort them out. But that is not possible for me and my eyes.

The last thing I need to point out, in case it counts for your reading the book is that I am already reading book 7, so…

It is worth the read. Stay with it. There are rewards in the story. And in this crazy world, a sweet time-travel romance can calm the worries that like to strike at bedtime.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “nose/noes/knows.” Use one, use ’em all, bonus points if you use all three. Have fun!

Know ye not the nose will spite the face when yeses exceed the noes?

My friend shared this with me. I thought it was cool!

Fresh off the loom;

Spa socks! Because they are cotton they are great after shower and lotion.

Diamond Painting is the new meditation.

It feels like I’m painting geodes. I love these colors!

By the way, it was pretty today, though cold. But snow is expected tonight in an hour. Crazy ‘Spring’ weather.

Thus Thursday

It was so pretty last night. I wanted to go out and play. I wanted to put up Christmas lights. Instead I enjoyed Kali’s many ‘outsides’. I let the snow hit me in the face and land on my clothes.
Morning beauty. But too icy to walk now. Two hours later no snow except on the north side of the house. Green is showing up. Mud is driveway and roads. More expected tomorrow.
Meanwhile, dragon is coming along.

But now I need to get back to writing. This is me knuckling down.

That would be Teddy my Ginger! Yeah, he’s a sun soaker.

One-Liner Wednesday

One-Liner Wednesday

Found on Facebook. True story! It has been constantly snowing, sometimes sticking, always windy. And cold!

Ta Da Tuesday

Not sure I like this. I can’t understand what I’m looking at. I still need to straighten drills, seal, and paint on the frame. I think this set of four dragons will go over my bed.

Here’s the next picture. It is harder to see than the one above.

It’s the process not the end result. So tomorrow I’ll be ‘kitting up’

Oh, and it’s snowing. I’m hoping we’re getting enough to pull us out of an exceptional draught. It sure is cold!

It’s April?

On the home-stretch with the spa slippers. I’d love to find a bunch of this twisted cotton. It feels good to my hands and I bet it’ll feel great to freshly-lotioned feet.
I will probably finish this dragon tomorrow. With this weather, I may never get outside again.
Last night at Kali’s midnight outside. Today snow blizzard conditions so as not to see a mile and then shiny blue skies. Trying to keep track of the season!

I lowered my goal for CampNaNo. 25k instead of 50k. Now I have less pressure and more fun ahead.
