Stream of Consequences Saturday, gl

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is โ€œstarts with โ€˜gl.’โ€ Find a word that starts with โ€œglโ€ and use it any way youโ€™d like. Have fun!

Glance at a list of words starting with GL, and you will find yourself in a world of glitz and glamour, glad tidings of glory or land in the gory medical terms like glioblastoma and gliocytes.

Then there are the gloomy words of the gloaming. Well, that took a dark turn!

Most of all, I see another language Duolingo could teach me. GL-ish.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is โ€œBald, Balled, Bawledโ€ Use one. Use two or use them all any way youโ€™d like. If you manage to use all three, Iโ€™ll slide you some bonus points. Enjoy!

It’s happened to me often. That new skein of beautiful yarn, the bright shiny pattern pulling my itchy fingers to get busy.

I reach inside looking for the lone strand to start the cake. But yarn vomit erupts. It’ll be hours before this would look like something more than a bald gnome bawling balled up, and organized soft sock or toy.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is โ€œtravel.โ€ Use it any way youโ€™d like. Enjoy!

Lately my daily travels have been from bed to recliner to bathroom. Rinse and repeat.

My energy is so low. I miss me. Ugh!

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is โ€œdraw.โ€ Use it as a noun, use it as a verb, use it any way youโ€™d like. Have fun!

Drawing my own conclusions,  as convenient and painful as it can be, illness can teach us a lot.

But I’d rather be drawing doodles .

Two sleeps and a wake up. I can’t believe I’m looking forward to seeing a doctor like Christmas!

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is โ€œwind.โ€ Use it as a noun, use it as a verb, use it any way youโ€™d like. Enjoy!

Ah, Christmas Valley. High Desert of Oregon. It isn’t Santa or Noel you are famous for. It’s the wind.

Having lived in the High Desert of California where all the trees lean east, you’d think I’d be used to it. The constant wind.

The tree I miss. Joshua tree.

And though it’s a nuisance and often scary with fires all around, it helps us stay cooler than many other cities. It’s a dry heat. Not so great for complexion, but easily cooler with swamp coolers.

Once the wind winds itself up, it is days of feeling sure a green lady on a bike will fly by.

I can’t decide if wind is better or worse in Winter than Summer. Like I mentioned, fire season makes the wind scary. And makes breathing outside difficult.

The super winds brings in you neighbors’ trash. Flying trampolines do happen out here.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is โ€œsometimes.โ€ Start your post with the word โ€œsometimes.โ€ Have fun!

I’m sure others thought of this. But I couldn’t resist:

Sooner or later we all are.

Remember when they told you that when you’re young, your parents know nothing. But when you grow up you realize they were geniuses.

Yeah. Somehow in my 60s my anger at my parents disappeared. Suddenly, in my 70s, I admire how much they knew, dealt with, and still managed to parent us. Now I miss them, especially my mom . I wish I could ask questions. But Mom barely made it to her 60s.

Mom was the holder of my memories. All those stories of what happened to me, how much do I really remember and how much was from her memory?

I wish I could sit down with all those who’ve gone before and learn why things happened or didn’t.

I find it interesting that families started earlier back then. Maybe tradition helped them do better? But Mom would have been better as a doctor, not a mother. She was so smart for the lack of continued education. She had to work. Then she had kids. Never did she have the chance to prove herself. And the trauma she dealt with on top of the feeling of unfulfillment is so sad looking back.

We pass so much to our offspring even when we try not to. Sometimes.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is โ€œspark.โ€ Use it any way youโ€™d like. Have fun!

Why is it that when I start a blog with ideas, the spark dies? It’s like all the sparks crash into each other and explode as I get ready to write.

I hope my USAย  neighbors are having a great holiday. We’ve been enjoying the ABC celebration until it became clear we needed to watch ID4. Tradition, ya know?

Milo is an old man. He barks at anything near his space, or sounds he’s not used to. His bark says, “Get off my lawn!” So the fireworks and sparkles are going to drive him crazy. My plans for tonight will be doggy hugs and gentle chatting.

I wish you all a safe one. Please, no fires!

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is โ€œpeak/peek/pique.โ€ Use one, use all three (for bonus points), use them any way youโ€™d like. Enjoy!

As my anxiety for daily blog not done piqued, I turned off my audiobook, and decided to peek into my Spotify app. Mostly I found a mountain of podcasts I’m behind on. After getting past the peak of Mount Podcast, I walked Into the Woods.

That gave me a Stream–and a smile! How I miss my traveling music. And traveling! So it’s Into the Woods!

Hit or Miss? Miss Who? Not the Doctor? I miss that show.

I know. My heart is hiding from the deeper missives. Being 76 means my misses are greater than they ever were. I’m grateful for their presence in my life physically, and the spirits I feel and converse with. Sadly, their jabs and jokes seem so much like my own.

A miss is as good as a mile, they say. Did my stream grow to the size of the Mississippi?

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is โ€œmiss.โ€ Use it any way youโ€™d like. Have fun!

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is โ€œguest.โ€ Use it any way youโ€™d like. Enjoy!

Anybody watch the series “From” ? When I saw the prompt I thought about how guests are brought in and don’t escape.

At this point, the streams fork out and I can’t keep track with these ole fingers and eyes. So that’s it.

By the way, if you don’t like horror, and I think this is far scarier than The Walking Dead, maybe pass it by. I’m still undecided. I watched while knitting or playing games on my tablet so I don’t get hooked in.
