The Housemaid by Freida McFadden
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This was not what I expected. I thought for sure that I would find it boring or silly. But instead, I found a very interesting story, told in a way that kept I interested from the very beginning.
The narrator, Lauryn Allman, did a marvelous job of varying her voice for each character, making them believable.
The film has been out for a while. My favorite way to watch books made into movies is to read them first. So that was my goal. Little did I imagine I’d be hooked into reading the next few books. As soon as I’ve read them all, I will find the movie.
Don’t you love Libby? I wouldn’t be able to read/listen to so many books without it.

I have that book but haven’t gotten into it. I don’t read a lot of fiction, so it’s been sitting here since Christmas. .. Libby? ours is no good at all. I try to find things to read and either they don’t have it or it will be at least a year before I can get it.
I read a ittle of everything, I guess. I had one card that was in another city, but it needs to be renewed in person. Yeah. That’ll take a 6 hour drive, o nope. I learned about Broward Country and though it costs $40 for a non-resident card they have a lot to borrow. Our little town here has a library with less books than I own. And their Libby is as bad so I needed something. I’m still looking into ways to get a broader selection, but libraries seem to be tightening their lendership. If you learn of other legal ways to borrow books, let me know.
Okay, I will. Libby is a good idea, just wish it worked better 🙂
Me, too!
