So the groove is coming back!

But…

Remember how Linda had the coloring prompt? It kind of faded for a lot of us. I still want to, but find the setting up and needing a place to comfortably color difficult. Instead, my husband got into the coloring apps. He even found an app that does surprise pictures. There is no outline of shapes in the picture. You just tap the number of the corresponding color. Eventually, there’s a picture. It’s funny/cute when he and I are coloring together. Retirement has it’s surprises!❤️
After I tire of a game or two, while listening to my audiobook, I start coloring. I started the above last night. My eyes got tired so I finished this morning even before coffee. ‘Masquerade’ from Phantom of the Opera played in my head as I finished.
Though I’ve not done much knitting, I did manage 45 minutes on the stationary bike then played a couple pieces on the piano. Yay!

Once you see the root of words everything is self-explanatory. Don’t you think?

Thank you, Maggie, prompter of the day! Please be sure to visit Maggie’s blog to read her post and say hello. And follow her while you’re there, if you’re not already.
Your prompt for JusJoJan January 10th 2023, is “periwinkle.” Use the word “periwinkle” any way you’d like. Have fun!
I’m a periwinkle fan!

Here is my entry for July coloring fun.

Now that I have my hobby room things like coloring are a lot more fun.
Thank you, Linda G. Hill for the Escapist Coloring Club prompt to pull out the crayons colored pencils, and pens.
Here is the next picture in my dragon coloring book for next month.

There seems to be bleed through from the markers I used on the previous picture. I think I’ll be able to hide it. I took this pic with black and white filter.
Color doesn’t make sense to me. How can the two ‘o’s sound so different? To me, in my accent it sounds like ‘culler’. Brits make it sound proper with their spelling. It sounds fuller and yearns for crayons and paints.
Since once again I’m staring at the end of another month of not Escaping with the coloring club, I think I’ll stop streaming and go to my hobby room and finish the pages I started at the end of last month. Hopefully, that will create Sunday’s blog.

Per Linda:
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “color/colour.” Use it as a noun, a verb, or pick a color and write about it–use it any way you like. Have fun!
No. I didn’t play Tetris. I needed to do more rearranging in my ‘studio.’
My daughter is deeply in a move. So much so that they are living with no furniture for two weeks. Everything has already moved or has been given away.
Which brings me to my new acquisitions from her. Two folding tables and a cubicle shelf for hobbies and books.
That meant moving the smaller bookshelf full of music books to another location.

That left the window area for the cubicle shelving for art, crafts, more books.

Now I’ve opened the smaller table for all kinds of fun.

Meanwhile, we actually had a tiny bit of rain today. Not enough to put out fires but it cooled things down a bit.
Three more Marvel films moved me on the timeline. Captain America: the Winter Soldier, and both Guardians of the Galaxy. I did like G of G. They were more my kind of movie. And Grood is the coolest!
Okay, time to make some noise or music accordingly.

I escaped coloring and left June undone.

My addition to the Escapist Coloring Club will span two months.

Since it started getting either busy and/or hot my Camp Nano has seen no progress. I’ll continue in July.
This then was my One-liner Wednesday, etc. post.

Busy day. The muses have given me a workout. I’m not done even now. But I thought I should report how amazing these Muses are.
First of the day I sat an played a couple songs by ear on my soprano recorder I did find a wonderful webpage to help me until I can get a few books. From that website I learned to play Lightly Row. That was fun.
I ran to my piano and played Prelude. Why yes, that is a sticker (just above the Allegro) that I tried to rip off the page as I am embarrassed that I learned to play this way back when I was a teen or less. Now at 71 that sticker makes me want to cry. I learned so much from Mrs. Skinner. The first teacher out of church that I knew most of my early life.

I found the playing fun and I got up immediately so that I could remember music as fun.
I went back to the recorder for one more play-through and then looked up YouTubes. I ran across Kalimba lessons.
Hey! I have a Kalimba! So now I am on a kick to learn Kalimba, too.
Why all this musical attentions? Mrs. Skinner. I remember when I hated piano. Never Mrs. Skinner. But she told me not to play the piano for a while. She gave me her ukulele to go home and play with. She had a tuning whistle and a book. When I got pretty good at that she made sure I had piano music for voice and let me learn to sing to my playing.
So I am playing with music again to start to love it. Again. And the recorder, I hope will increase my breath control.
Oh! I nearly forgot, I spent time on my next page on the Dragon Coloring Book.
Now to get back to what I haven’t finished for the night. My JuNoWriMo projects. So far I have (not counting todays) 827 words added to Pandamapocalypse and 3594 added to Marina’s Mission.
Now to get back to work as the story is coming around!

Last time I saw this picture was in July last year. Oops! I haven’t colored in a long time! But today I finished using pens and crayons. I didn’t like the story they presented. I have a Marina in my latest Haven book so I rewrote the bottom. Which is nudging me to make the next story about Marina. I really like her and I think she has a lot to offer. My Marina has short blonde hair but I suppose she enjoys wigs or can grow it out now that she has been gene-popped with the other Havenites.

So now I have the beginnings of an outline for JuNoWriMo! Thank you Linda, for tickling the muses and getting me back to enjoying the escaping!
Here’s the next pic in that book. I hope I can hit this before mid-month for a change! It really helps to play with the crayons and colors!

I don’t like the idea of swords or knights or other things attacking my dragons, but this may well happen in the next book! Woe be to those who attempt to kill my Haven dragons!
Thank you, Linda G. Hill, for this fun prompt. I am always happy when I join in the fun of the Escapist Coloring Club
So this is the before picture. I decided to try something new. I have all those pens and markers. So I didn’t do the crayons and pencils this time. I like that it works up faster but I miss the crayon smell and the ability to shadow or highlight. And I think I see more stroke marks. Bleh! Oh, well, lesson learned and a hot day spent relaxing.
Maybe from an airplane, it looks good. Lessons learned.
Here’s the picture for next time:
So that is my submission of the July Escapist Coloring Club. Thank you, Linda, for a fun prompt.
