Okay, does it count that I only have one ‘after-shower, lotion, cotton bootie’ finished? I’m almost finished with the mate.
This one is a tight fit on my 81/2 foot so I think it will be comfy for a size 7. Now I’m wanting to make a pair for myself! When I finish with bootie’ #2 I will make sure I lost the pattern or YouTube tutorial.
Well, how shall I frame this? Though this prompt by Linda G. Hill is meant to bring about some creative writing, I find myself lost in a different kind of yarn. The knitting is done on a round frame with pegs all around. Actually, a KB loom. It made a hat slightly smaller than what would be comfortable for me. I’m passing it on to the Hat Huggers. I think it would be a nice soft hat for a chemo patient. I know I have nearly drooled at the softness of the Bernat yarn. So I think I will make myself a hat for this winter with the bigger KB loom. Here’s the finished product:
The pictures seem drained of color. Picture a cantaloupe for that pinkish part. Next to the face is a rind green. The yellow is brighter, too. At least the softness shows up.
Today we discovered Shadow Hunters on Hulu. That has kept me busy all day, knitting and watching. It’s a fun show similar in nature to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Not much gore. Just characters growing into their places. I think others might like it.
Maybe tomorrow I’ll list some of my latest binges and see what others think of them. Hope everyone had a nice Saturday/weekend.
I had hoped to be finished with these two project by today. Oh, well. I love the soft yarn, Bernard Pipsqueak. I’m making a small adult hat. The other is a slipper sock of Sugar and Cream cotton purple for cuff and for the rest of the sock a combination of blues and purples. Ah, well, maybe next week I will be finished with these.

Though I like making the blanket and getting better at it, I don’t like sewing on the bits and pieces. I think they are cute and I think someone will find comfort in this toy, I need a break. And I bet you guys need something else to look at here.

Sorry to non-yarners, but when I feel challenged I answer the call. Today I started a lavender lovey Blanket double toy. The blanket itself takes a couple days of constant counting. The acorn pattern is fairly simple, if you pay attention. ADD makes that hard so I have tricks to help me stay on track. I had to print out the pattern and Mark where I was at all times. I had to put a marker at the beginning of each set so I could count rows to be accurate. My first try at the blanket, I had to rip it all out as I blogged a few days ago. It is the bind-off that gives me the most trouble. The one I shared two days ago I made with the drawstring bind-off. I figured the crochet border hides the sin. Today I took my time to listen to Denise’s tutorial. It turned out so nice I didn’t want to put the border on. But tightening the loose loops is always hard for me. It took three hours to get it done. Here’s the blanket without a border.

After frogging, I started working on the project again.
Now I just need to see it together. The border still isn’t perfect, but I plan to make more and, well, practice makes it!
I was nearly finished but the bind off was too tight! Bah!
Well, one more baby hat to send to our charity:
I loved the yarn. So soft. I think it is [edit: Caron Dazzle Aire]. I used the baby hat loom from KB. The pattern was simply an inch of two-by-two ribbing (2 knits, 2 purls), the rest flat knit stitch.
While my son made meat barbeque for the other carnivores in the house, I put my vegeburger in the microwave for a minute and continued to finish this:
I’d love to give the pattern but it was kind of freestyle, wing-it hat sized for a small adult or a large child. I did the brim in garter stitch (Knit a row, Purl a row, etc.) Then flat knit stitch a row, U-wrap a row, e-wrap a row, Purl a row and alternating the rows without paying a lot of attention. It was on the white KB loom, two strands of yarn one olive green the other striated green and beige. I miss socks! Must start a new pair soon!
Off topic: Hope your 4th was fun and safe! How many watch the movie every year? (Raising hand) Oh, and I hope all are recovered from the earthquakes today.
