I finally finished the socks. I’m so sad that the colors don’t look the same even though they are the same yarn. But at least they are the same size.
While knitting, I enjoyed these two films among other programs.
I’ve always been a fan of the Dianna Ross version in Lady Sings the Blues. I was excited to see this one with her son on another side of the great Billy’s life,
Then I was walking through the bedroom, and my husband had on the TV there. I saw Craig Ferguson on and knew I had to watch this:
What a sweet movie with humor and Scotland! I highly recommend this one.
After enjoying CBS Sunday Morning, and may I say I am a Cindy McCain fan now. I mosied over to my Zoom service. I have missed the last few weeks. How does one miss a Zoom service when you don’t have to dress up and be somewhere? Well, one does have to wake up on time. And I haven’t lately. So it was fun and informative. I was convinced to order this book on Audible.
Then I spent the rest of the day knitting and watching free live Galaxycons that I had signed up for earlier. I found I will watch any of them, even shows I never cared for, as I love hearing the people talk about their times, learning about following their passions of acting. I even watched one about Goofy and Mickey Mouse voices and the Little Mermaid’s stars. Here is one of their commercials. Maybe the ones talking aren’t who you are interested in, but go in and see if they have some convention stars you might like to know more about.
So I put off this blog hoping to show you that I had completed a pair of socks. And though that is true, what I found at the latest sock was larger than the first one. After another count of pegs, I saw I had miss counted hence the larger-sized one. Now I have the decision to frog the big one and put it on the smaller-counted pegged arm of the CinDWood X-loom. Or Frog both and start over on another couple looms. OR make two more socks on the same two arms of the loom that the ones I just finished came off of giving me two pairs, one bigger than the other like this time. Decisions, decisions! I like the one sock. I don’t want to frog it. I hate working on the big loom, so I dread knitting two more socks on it. I think I can handle one more, so that is what I will do. Frog the big put on the lessor pegs, and hopefully, I will be done with the smaller pair soon.
Now that I am on my laptop, I can include some YouTube trailers.
If you are a Grey’s Anatomy/Shondaland fan, I just finished watching Firefly Lane. Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl), with the look of Calliope (Sara Ramirez) and Scrubs doctor and Grey’s patient Sarah Chalke has a season of a lifetime of memories to work through. It is left on a bit of a cliffhanger, and I hope there will be more.
And though I am not a fan, I am warming up to Bridgerton, another Shonda special treat. One has to let go of facts and just get into the story presented
like I had to with Reign, which I loved toward the end.

Spent the day bingeing and knitting. I’m rewatching Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Just finished Justine. Meh.

My circular needle socks suddenly seemed inside out so I frogged and started over. I’ll get it yet. This time I nearly reached the heel part. That’s progress!
The end choice in the boredom of what I want to watch next is Reign. I’ve passed it up so many times as it seemed a teenie bopper choice. Even from the beginning the modern music and the prom dresses throw all believability out the window. If you are looking for something with true historic meaning, you’ll not find it here. But if you want a fun show to watch that is nevertheless a bit of a lesson to said teenie boppers of how females were treated and how little has changed in a lot of cases, while hoping to never go back to that life, this is your new show. Just suspend belief even from the beginning.

Two hombre socks nearly finished. I think I’ll have enough yarn left over for another hat. I love my Flexee looms and they are perfect for socks! Even toe-up!
Meanwhile, Doctor Who is keeping my distraction levels up and pain levels down. 😎
Snow seems to be the new normal to wake to. I didn’t take a picture of it this morning because it was an early Kali ‘outside,’ and we went back to bed. It melted by the time I actually woke. It is snowing now—big beautiful flakes.
Sunday went along rather regularly CBS Sunday Morning after UU. Then a fun GalaxyCon. Here is the cutest moment:
It was so much fun that I actually had tears in my eyes when it was over. Guess I’m missing my Doctor Who fixes.
My brother put up the Christmas trees today as he had the living room to himself. It was too cold out there, so I stayed in the bedroom. Tomorrow we’ll put on the lights. That is always a cheer to the soul.
This evening my son and I continued watching Legends of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fritz was captured and was being held in a cell. As he was trying to figure out where the team was and how they were taken, he also kept track by drawing monkeys on his cell wall. I got distracted by my urge to draw, said the monkey. I didn’t do too badly and found it so much fun. I took a picture while the show was paused so I can play with the doodle some more.
Do you get distracted by a need to draw something? What this made me think of is the Kilroy was here doodle you used to see everywhere. I drew those on my class notes quite often.
My son and I are on season 4 of 7 now. I finally like it. At one point a long time ago, my husband and I watched it weekly, and at one point, we both lost interest. Now the second watching, I was accompanied by my own geek son and his inside information of the characters. We’ve come full circle as I read comic books to him to help develop a desire to read, and soon I didn’t get to be a part of the comic team.
When he is not in the room, I have been bingeing Virgin River. I started from the beginning and soon realized that I had watched the first season. Now I am finished. But not before getting my husband into it, so he is off watching it again.
I need another ‘me’ binge to watch while knitting or editing. I have some like The Originals that I can totally ignore. I have no idea which season I am on or what is going on. I just know I don’t have commercials, and I don’t have to watch with attention.
I do the same with Star Treks. Although I can often bring some of the ideas into my writing. And I get sucked into the story on this one.
As everyone is getting excited about the Christmas line-ups, I am sad that things that barely got back are going into the holiday hiatus. I have loved Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19, and how well they approached the COVID19 situation.
I hope you all are finding ways to stay interested in the world and find good writing tools. I find those who put down TV or movies don’t understand the depth it takes to take the original writing, then adds so many other levels of arts: acting, music, make-up, costumes, scenery, so many people doing the best they can to bring stories to life. I love to read, purely read. But I find so much in other artforms, even the bad ones have put in a lot of work.
