Since I can’t find an N pic I’m guessing we take a day off every now and then from A to Z Challenge?

Meanwhile, this is interesting:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “starts with mono.” Find a word that starts with “mono” and use it in your post. Enjoy!

Mono Lake is one of the most enchanting places on Earth. On a solo drive from Southern California to Reno it captured my imagination during a rest stop at sunset. I wish I had taken pictures. The tufa looked like fairy castles and the little flies were the fae. Please click on the underlined Mono to see a bit of wonder. As I pulled into the scenic view “Time to Say Goodbye” was playing on my Camry’s CD player.

My favorite song, I think.

Here’s another view of Mono Lake:

Be glad I chose not to tell you about my non-kissed mononucleosis. The lake is far cheerier !🤪

A to Z Challenge, L

Let me be honest. Lately, laziness lulls around me. Loosely speaking, I lean towards lolly-gagging and shenanigans. Little gets done that isn’t fun. At least for me. But I am busier than ever. And I better get going as I’m going to be late.

The Girl Who Fell Beneath the SeaThe Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I think others will like this book. I think I might have liked an audio version rather than the Kindle text-to-speech. Maybe it was just I wasn’t into it. I put the speed faster to finish the book.

It had a good storyline. Which is why I feel it was just me not being in the mood for it right now. I do love the cover, so beautiful. As was the concept. So just take it as a me thing. It was a Kindle Libby, so it was free. Try it; you might love it!

Accessory to War: The Unspoken Alliance Between Astrophysics and the MilitaryAccessory to War: The Unspoken Alliance Between Astrophysics and the Military by Neil deGrasse Tyson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

War is not my thing. Often it feels like the author is trying to tell us we need a war if we want to explore space or see new inventions. But it is the opposite of that. He has researched points to prove this is how it has always been, and, please hang on until the end of the book, he has some answers as well researched and thought out of how we can improve our lives, save us from global warming and other imminent disasters, and finally space travel for good not evil. Yes, I prefer Star Trekking to Star Warring.

I could listen to Neil deGrasse Tyson all night. In fact, the other night, I did just that. His voice is soothing, and his articulation is precise. I’m not a scientist or a historian, but I felt this wasn’t over my head.

I highly recommend this book, especially the audio. I picked this up on Libby, a great place to read for free! Libraries are the greatest!

As I am looking to buy Avatar 2, Way of Water, I was reminded of Blockbuster’s past. “Be Kind, Please Rewind.”

So can we assume that losing the tapes is why kindness is hard to find? Just asking. I know it is still out there. But isn’t it like a sweet Kiss when you find it? And doesn’t it feel wonderful knowing you have passed it on, that you’ve made someone’s day?

Well, I have to keep this short as I have to write a review for an audiobook and a Kindle.

Because it was the ‘K’ word I could find. 🙂

Combo Wednesday

(sorry it’s so small. Posting on my cell) A to Z Challenge
Finished Friday on Wednesday
And they fit so cozily!

Just finished my socks!

A to Z Challenge, I

Investigating words that start with ‘I,’ I found some favorites. Information. Yes, that is the Google word. I go to Google when I want information. I hunger for it at times. Sometimes what is out there isn’t enough to just feed me. I need instruction. That is what YouTube is for. But if that isn’t enough for my hungry being, imagination will fill in the gaps. That brings me to a satisfying and immediate improvement in mood. I hope you found this interesting, if not

A to Z Challenge, H

How has this day escaped me? Ooh! Look at that, without even trying, I’ve used the letter! I usually do Make It or Made It Monday, but I just put all the projects away. And, yes, that was what kept me busy. The slipper socks I was making for me were disturbingly messed up. So I had to tink back down past the boo-boos. It was slow and boring, so I watched Knives Out and the Glass Onion while ripping the slipper to a workable place. Hey, those were fun! I didn’t expect to like them. I don’t like murder mysteries. But these are about a lot more than murder. Unfortunately, you have to rent Knives Out from Amazon. But you don’t need to watch Knives Out to watch Glass Onion.

This evening I decided I needed something in the background. I absolutely hate this show for all the intrigue and meanness. But the music is so captivating that I couldn’t help myself but buy the sheet music and hope to try to play it someday.

Somehow I need to get the area around my piano open so I can play again. Right now, it is holding the broken treadmill that we still haven’t gotten the people to do what they should about it.

Happy Monday!

Happy Easter
