Finished Friday

Yay! I finished it!

Still need to straighten and seal. It was fun!

Now on to my next.

I’m not too impressed so far.  But, hey, it’s a beach!
This is how the kit looks. I’ve already started knitting up.

Progress on the socks? Sure.

I’ve started the arch ribbing. These will be a mix of the sneaker no-show socks and the Fleegle Heel. Obviously, Chiaogoo red-laced cable needles, Two-At-A-Time. Because the yarn is thin and the needles are size 1 my hands and eyes can’t work more than a couple rows.
These are easier. I had a lot of the above and this yarn so more socks. These won’t be no shows. Just Fleegle Heel slipper socks. Though cotton and not as easy as wool yarn. But bigger yarn and needles are easier on my eyes and fingers.

My uke is calling and it’s almost midnight! Yikes!

Happy Weekend

Maddening Monday

So I bit the bullet. I tried the Fishlip Heel. I watched the tutorials over and over. I got this far with the heel.

The blue yarn is my lifeline. I’m about to tink back one last time. I don’t want to wear out this yarn so I’ll create the Fleegle Heel I love so much. If someone can lead me to a tutorial for the Fishlip that makes sense I’ll try again with new yarn rather than fatigue the current yarn. I can’t share the Fishlip tutorials but once again here’s my favorite sock tute.

I hope you are having a better Monday than me.

Yay!

One pair done!

Used these two tutorials to help out. I’ve nearly memorized both.

What makes me very happy is seeing all the family that live with me, were wearing their slipper socks during these chilly days and loving them. I hope this pair finds happy feet.

One-Liner Wednesday

Fun socks!

I can’t wait to see the pinks show up.

TaDa Tuesday

My hands are tired. But the heels are turned. Just the leg and cuff left to do. Yay!

Finishing Friday

As soon as I do one more row the sock on the right will be ready for bind-off. The sock on the right could have been finished, but I wanted green on the cuff so I will tink down and add the green from a different part of the skein.
A fine gauge toe finished. On to the foot. I think I’ll do ribbing as I love how the Sneaker Socks feels.
A nice pair of slipper socks started.
Ribbing of a hat finished. Now on to the rest of the hat. I will have to buy more of this buttery soft yarn.
I need to have 28k by now. Sadly, I am 4k behind. So back to work.
Yeah. At this rate I’ll be done December 5. 😥
Saw this on Facebook. Cute, huh?

Made Them Monday

After many mistakes and tinking back to fix these are finally finished. There are a couple threads to hide but I’m proud of what I’ve learned making these shortie socks.

I followed the YouTube for the Fleegle Heel Toe-up Two At A Time Socks. I used ChiaoGoo Red-lace Circular Needles US 8. I started out on the 40″ cables. When it was time to bind off I found it easier to do one sock at a time putting the sock on 9″ corded needles. I’ll share the bind off YouTube, too.

Finishing Friday

Just a picture of the pairs with the most progress.

Leftover yarn making shorty socks. Nearly to the heel. Turkish cast-on heading to Fleegle heel.
I may actually finish these before midnight. Doing Jenny’s cast-off.

There’s a couple more I’m working on but it’s late and I still have Duolingo to do before midnight.

Happy weekend!

Finishing Friday

Finished! Ready to mail. Cotton mix. With enough leftover that I started another pair of socks.
Starting the new pair with a Turkish cast-on.
Right more rows of Continental worked ribbing. I think these bamboo yarn socks will be done by next Friday.
Just keep my hands busy with the looms. Somehow I like working with ChiaoGoo Red-lace Circular Needles, Toe-up Two At A Time Socks with Turkish cast-on, Fleegle Heel, mostly knitting right-handed, Ribbing Continental, and Jenny’s stretchy cast-off. But if my hands tire of knitting the Flexee Fine Gauge starting with the Kitchener cast-on for dif.
Because these are finer gauge needles and yarn, my hands don’t enjoy working on this pair as much. But I do like the colors and how soft the yarn and material feels.
Fun!

Finishing Friday

Oops! I was supposed to be finished with these  but I got distracted. Maybe by Sunday? I plan to make them low cuffs so about five rows of knitting, then five more of ribbing. Then I will give up on thinner yarns and needles. Oops! I still have the next pair. My fingers are saying, ‘Ugh!’
Still I love the colors!
This yarn is easier though a little boring. Still my allergic friends will like these better than the fun wools that I like. Getting ready to finish the heel. That’s the party I have to concentrate on. Lots of counting. I just admit the yarn and needles are much kinder to my hands.

I have a few other projects but the progress is even less than these. I’m wondering how summer will affect progress. With walks and biking indoors I’m moving more.

I am trying out my walking sticks. Who knew that could tire one out?
