This is more disappointing than most of the free crochet books I’ve looked at recently. Most of those have patterns but no pictures of finished product or enough pictures of how to do certain stitches. No. This one has fantastically fun pictures of things I’d love to make but there are no patterns. And why are there so many books with the history of crochet? And worst of all–the title: Modern Crochet for Women. What? How modern can it be if it is only for women? There are a lot of men who love crocheting. I wish there was a lower star rating for my disappointment.

My Newest Plarn Adventures: Nesting Bowls

They look like little mushrooms. They are great for storing or separating small items. I’m thinking puzzle pieces or hair ties. When not in use, they nest inside each other.

Here’s another one I picked up for free on Amazon. It is still free today. I love looking at the pictures on my tablet as they are very clear and I can see what the results should look like.

This isn’t a pattern book. If you are an experienced crocheter you have tons of patterns. This gives you stitches that you might include in your work. Some of them I knew, but could never find the pattern that included this stitch. Others were new to me. I can hardly wait to try them out!

If you like to crochet and need pictures to help you out, this is the book for you. Oh, and there are links to sites that will teach you more. This one is a keeper!
