So the groove is coming back!

The lighthouse is nearly finished. It was very inexpensive. And VERY POOR quality. The diamonds move around due to glue ‘rivers’. And the diamonds are not very smooth. So as soon as I finish the last little bit I may throw it away. At least I had a small painting to try out the light pad. This was all on my lap on the recliner. It worked.

But…

From farther away it looks better and sparkles.
I love this rechargeable long life battery light pad. Here is a little info about the light pad.

Remember how Linda had the coloring prompt? It kind of faded for a lot of us. I still want to, but find the setting up and needing a place to comfortably color difficult. Instead, my husband got into the coloring apps. He even found an app that does surprise pictures. There is no outline of shapes in the picture. You just tap the number of the corresponding color. Eventually, there’s a picture. It’s funny/cute when he and I are coloring together. Retirement has it’s surprises!❤️

After I tire of a game or two, while listening to my audiobook,  I start coloring. I started the above last night. My eyes got tired so I finished this morning even before coffee. ‘Masquerade’ from Phantom of the Opera played in my head as I finished.

Though I’ve not done much knitting, I did manage 45 minutes on the stationary bike then played a couple pieces on the piano. Yay!

And not to brag, but to celebrate, lookie here! Sorry if you already saw it on Facebook. But I do feel good that even with the road trip I didn’t miss a day. One lesson takes 5-15 minutes. Some days I do all 10 languages but mostly the ones I feel most passionate about. Right now, Italian and Japanese are my favs.
What are you making, how’s your Monday? Have a great week!

Escapist Coloring Club

Here is my entry for July coloring fun.

Now that I have my hobby room things like coloring are a lot more fun.

Thank you, Linda G. Hill for the Escapist Coloring Club prompt to pull out the crayons colored pencils, and pens.

Here is the next picture in my dragon coloring book for next month.

There seems to be bleed through from the markers I used on the previous picture. I think I’ll be able to hide it. I took this pic with black and white filter.

Color doesn’t make sense to me. How can the two ‘o’s sound so different? To me, in my accent it sounds like ‘culler’. Brits make it sound proper with their spelling. It sounds fuller and yearns for crayons and paints.

Since once again I’m staring at the end of another month of not Escaping  with the coloring club, I think I’ll stop streaming and go to my hobby room and finish the pages I started at the end of last month. Hopefully, that will create Sunday’s blog.

Need to finish today!

Per Linda:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “color/colour.” Use it as a noun, a verb, or pick a color and write about it–use it any way you like. Have fun!

I escaped coloring and left June undone.

Unfinished

My addition to the Escapist Coloring Club will span two months.

Since it started getting either busy and/or hot my Camp Nano has seen no progress. I’ll continue in July.

This then was my One-liner Wednesday, etc. post.

Last time I saw this picture was in July last year. Oops! I haven’t colored in a long time! But today I finished using pens and crayons. I didn’t like the story they presented. I have a Marina in my latest Haven book so I rewrote the bottom. Which is nudging me to make the next story about Marina. I really like her and I think she has a lot to offer. My Marina has short blonde hair but I suppose she enjoys wigs or can grow it out now that she has been gene-popped with the other Havenites.

So now I have the beginnings of an outline for JuNoWriMo! Thank you Linda, for tickling the muses and getting me back to enjoying the escaping!

Here’s the next pic in that book. I hope I can hit this before mid-month for a change! It really helps to play with the crayons and colors!

I don’t like the idea of swords or knights or other things attacking my dragons, but this may well happen in the next book! Woe be to those who attempt to kill my Haven dragons!

Thank you, Linda G. Hill, for this fun prompt. I am always happy when I join in the fun of the Escapist Coloring Club

So this is the before picture. I decided to try something new. I have all those pens and markers. So I didn’t do the crayons and pencils this time. I like that it works up faster but I miss the crayon smell and the ability to shadow or highlight.  And I think I see more stroke marks. Bleh! Oh, well, lesson learned and a hot day spent relaxing.

Maybe from an airplane, it looks good. Lessons learned.

Here’s the picture for next time:

So that is my submission of the July Escapist Coloring Club. Thank you, Linda, for a fun prompt.

Last month I didn’t even get to the coloring. But I think we need this fun escape. So I prioritized. And my hands were hurting from socking too much. I think I have a dozen socks in the process. My new X-Wing fighter is a lot of fun to figure out. Yet I still haven’t finished my daughter’s and her boyfriend’s sock. They are close but that last bit at the cuff is the part I can’t do on auto-drive. I need to watch what I’m doing and not miss stitches. So that bit on the bottom right is my daughter’s nearly done sock. The yarn tied on each of the wings is to keep a big tangle from happening from sock to sock. The bottom wing is me trying to figure out certain stitches and how I can move the wedges around instead of increasing and decreasing.

Oh, yeah, this is about coloring!

Here is the before:

This time I needed the smell of crayons.

I need new pens or something as the colors are just not as bright as I wanted. And they certainly don’t show up on the cell pic. Well, it was fun to sit and color regardless. Next month I have a better project and new coloring instruments to play with.

Here’s the preview:

More places to put the colors!

Thank you, Linda, for the Escapist Color Club!

Escapist Coloring Club

March Edition

So I woke this morning and realized that tomorrow ends March and I hadn’t submitted my coloring project. So here is the picture before:

Yes, that stain is the reverse side of the coffee stain. It became a small hole as I tried to erase it. Oh well. It’s coloring that counts. During this time this is a great stress breaker.

So, here is my finished product. Almost all with some colored pencils that I hope to use up so I can use the prettier, brighter colored ones. I used erasable pens to make certain features stand out.

I wish the colors showed up better but I had to put in hope and love for everyone! And

Happy

Linda G. Hill’s Escapist Coloring Club is the place to check out this fun prompt.

This is my presentation to the Escapist Coloring Club. Sorry I’ve missed the last few months. I like to color. Why is it I put it off?

Here’s the before:

I used a combination of crayons, color pencils, and gel pens. Oh, that brownish stain on the right side of the page, that I remembered to put the blank white paper over in the before, It was on my husband’s side of the table where I kept the book. I think it was coffee. I tried to erase it or cover it up with a white pastel. Now I will keep it in my little lap-desk!

The quote below the picture didn’t show up all that well. It says:

The mysterious and elusive fairy dragons are often mistaken for large butterflies or dragonflies. They were favorite companions and mounts of the ‘wee people”.

Dragon Coloring Book

Oh, I have a new desk to keep my coloring and writing supplies.

My Desk

Not waiting until the last day of the month. Luckily this is May and there are 31 days! 🙂 Here’s my May project Empty first then color-penciled (noun becomes a verb!).

This guy was fun to work with. Imagine a colorful feathered dragon!

Here’s next month’s dragon (butterfly dragon?):

Thank you, Linda G. Hill, for this fun challenge!
