Finished Friday

Oh, and Freezing Friday. Here’s our porch light as proof. It’s creepier at night but too cold and icy to step out to take a picture.

These finished and the next already started.

Kitchener cast-on, white toes cinnamon foot, white heel and cuff.

A very satisfying finish was the series Lost in Space.

Now back to Season 13 of Doctor Who.

Oh and here’s to the finish of this horrid year

See you next year!

Finished Friday!

Yay! Two more socks done! Done on the His looms of the KB His and Hers sock looms. Kitchener cast-on toe, flat-knit stitch through out. German short-rows for heels. Knit/Purl ribbed cuff.

Yeah. I finished m wordage for NaNoWriMo. To get through the writing, I either listened to Pandora Classical Study Channel,

Dawson’s Creek,

or the Misfits.

I know. Quite the variety. My story is about people who are learning about new abilities. Hence the Misfits. There is a lot of family drama. Therefore Dawson’s Creek (And I love meandering down memory lane when my daughter and I used to watch it regularly, think, Y2K!) Other times I needed to just have something in the background. The music did the trick, usually. That is when it didn’t make me pull out the recorders or run to the piano to play Moonlight Sonata or Sarabande.

I wish I had pictures of something that is finished. But socks and hats took second place to writing. Oh, heck. This pair is close enough, just needing the cuffs. So Bam!

What are you watching, working on? By the way, Diamond Painting will be my next thing. I’m gathering bits to help with the new hobby.

Happy Friday and Happy December!

Finished Friday

Still writing. Need another couple hundred words to make the daily allotment.

Meanwhile I finished this hat a couple days ago.

Finished Friday

HOTL! (Hot off the loom). Just finished this hat. It is the pink and blue yarns combined. It is soft and warm. I think someone who receives it will love it. It turned out to be a snugger hat than using just one yarn at a time. So a smaller adult. Added to the charity bag with a bit of jealousy cause I love it. But I have plenty of hats in my own yarn.

So the specs:

Flexee fine-gauge loom, 80 pegs. Fold-up brim. All flat knit stitched. GoodKnitKisses 6 row decrease at crown. Move loops to remove every other link. Once more with the 6 row decrease. Then gather bind-off. Boom!

Just in case you forgot the pink and blue hats (same yarn).

Finished Friday

Yep. Another pink mohair hat. This one I added a little basket- weave. That’s just 4 knits, 4 purls done in 6 rows then reversing the order. I did the pattern 3 times. I like how it turned out. For more details the check out my previous hat.

I’m nearly finished with a pair of reversed socks. The combo is the opposite of the pair I finished a few days ago.

I just need to finish the cuffs. That’ll be done tomorrow, I’m sure.

This was yarn from China that I bought just before the lockdown. The labels are in Chinese except for the word Bamboo. Four skeins equal four socks. I made them on KB Flexee fine-gauge looms of 40 pegs each. I started with the Kitchener cast-on, German short-row toes, and heels. Most of the rest of the sock was the flat-knit stitch. The cuff is two-by-two knit and purl rib-stitch. Extra stretchy bind-off finishes the sock.

I am nearly finished with one other thing, and I will probably finish before I go to bed, The Walking Dead volume 15. I’ll post my review on Sunday. Notice how I left Saturday open for the usual Stream of Consciousness?

By the way, I love Fridays because I get to Zoom with my BFFs! The exciting part is two of us four have gotten their vaccines (first shots). No, our little community is still waiting for the shots to arrive.

Finished Almost Friday

After many frogs, the second sock is nearly finished. I would guess it will be done on Sunday. It is funny how different the two socks with the same yarn came out. Still, they are soft bamboo cotton that will be fun in tennies or morning slippers. All I know is I will never knit four socks at a time on the CinDWood X-loom. It is just too unwieldy. I might, though, make a scarf, blanket, or shawl as there are so many pegs (248) to make a good-sized piece of fabric.

Finished Friday

I wish I could say I have finished a whole pair of socks. Instead, I have to claim a sock and nearly another, minus the cuff. I think it is safe to say that the pair should be whole by Sunday.

I’m still teaching myself to circular needle knit a pair of toe-up magic circle socks. I’m giving up on the provisional cast-on. I think it isn’t the actual cast-on that bothers me; you aren’t starting at the tip of the toe but farther in. So my blog-friend at Missy’s Crafty Mess   shared her favorite cast-on. It does seem a lot more logical, so I’m frogging those again and trying this instead. Maybe I should call it Frogging Friday at this point?

It was a fun Friends Friday as my buds and I did our regular Zoom get-together. While we were chatting, our weather here went from sunny to a layer of snow. Now it is mostly gone. Sorry to the rest of the country that is getting overloaded with the stuff. We need lots more as our drought continues. But it was fun to watch this out my front window.

First, the disappointing word count of 44,235. That is 774 words short of the goal of 45,009. But I will try to make that up tomorrow.

On the other hand

Two more slipper socks, and the toe of the first of the next pair ready to go. I added a few rows on the multi-frogged X-Wing loom of four socks. So maybe the words suffer for the soft yarn? If I yarn better can I get more words? Curious minds want to know.

Meanwhile, my son and I are watching S.H.I.E.L.D.

We are into season 3. It is a Marvelous background to write to. It is fun and has similar energy that I think my NaNo has.

In the mornings after Kelly and Ryan and the View, oops and the News and GMA3 I am rewatching the Crown I just got to the Kennedy part. By the way, the choices for actors for those two was so wrong!

By the way, I finally finished Poldark. I had to leave it for a while because it added to the dispare of the day. And the cold parts were hard to watch when the weather got cold. But I did enjoy it and wished for more when it ended.
