I just found out that my author friend, Gita V. Reddy, has posted her books on YouTube. Here is the one about the Knitted Animals:

Well, I did finish a couple things.
I started one more hat. I may be playing yarn chicken. Hope I have enough.
Sock on the right HOTL (Hot Off The Loom). The purple yarn is from The Willows a local yarn shop. It is so soft. The white is leftovers from another project. It it thicker but good for toes and heels. The fuzzy yarn of the cuff is from a friend. I’m not sure I’d like it next to my skin but leggings might be nice under. Keep or gift, that is the question. LOL!!!
Just hanging out in the charity bag. I’m totally in love with how it turned out. Circular needles. The decreases turned out pretty, too. I’m getting better with needle-knitting. Of all of the yarning, this hurts least.
Well, I made the mistake of working on my knitting all day and forgot to blog or do my Duolingo. At least I had a ‘freeze’ on Duo, so I still have the count of 1,146 days. But I bet I am back to day one here on WordPress. I was heading for the 300. I’m so disappointed!
This is the feet and pants of the bear I’m learning to knit. See yesterday’s blog for the YouTube.
By the way, see the end of the needles? These were part of a little box my mom gave me decades ago. I don’t know what the gob is. Maybe putty? Gum? And I’m not sure but that these may be ivory from the days when we did such horrors as chop of elephant tusks for our knitting or makeup supplies. Still, it is cool to have inherited my mother’s needles.
This little squiggly doll was made a year or so ago. I don’t like stuffing and sewing so he went into the WIP cave of lost souls. But my daughter’s new interest in knitting toys gave me a boost to try and finish him. I need to stuff and sew on the arms and give him a hat or hair and a face.
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “a word that contains a silent letter.” Choose a word that contains a silent letter and use it in your post, or write about words with silent letters in general. Enjoy!
Though I wanted to actually write something creative today, I found it rather tough after working on my other projects. Oh, and we are busy watching Moonfall and now Night Sky ( both quite interesting) I’m too tired and distracted.
Here are the experiment hats.
The needle-knitted hat turned out a little too big and the Flexee a little too small. The Flexee colors made it easy to do a two-by-two ribbing. In the needle-knitted hat, I found it easy to find where the purls were and where the knits were, so I did a one-by-one ribbing.
I loved Moonfall. (HBOMAX) My favorite kind of movie!
And I am quite into Night Sky on Amazon Prime.
These slipper socks were made on the Flexee fine-gauge 40 pegs looms. The yarn was so soft I hope the universe grants me more to play with.
And that is how this hat came about.
I played yarn chicken with the leftover wool. I decided I might be able to make a child’s hat.
After a very busy day in Bend. Dilated eyes made shopping out of the question. I couldn’t even help in the bread store.
At the eye surgeon’s I learned my eyes had gotten so bad that she was nervous about all the things that could go wrong. Still, it’s safer getting the surgery, than letting it go. The scary things that could go wrong are like the warning signs at a roller coaster ride. You know the ones, do not ride if pregnant, have heart or back issues, etc. But I loved the coasters. I live seeing, reading so maybe it’s the same. Apparently, I won’t end up with 20/20. But it will be at correctable levels with glasses. My good eye will be able to drive without glasses. Even the bad will be corrected to arms length, like computer and piano music. Reading books will take readers. No prob. I can handle that.
I learned that for my first surgery she’s put me at the end so if it goes over time it won’t get in the way of other surgeries. BUT by being end of day the recheck can’t happen until the next morning. That means we find the pot of gold to stay at a motel over night or after the 4 hours round trip the day of the surgery getting up at 3:30AM to get to the recheck at 5:30AM and 5hen back home yikes!
We’ll work it out!
