Ta Da Tuesday

Hat done. Yay! Already started the next one.

I love decreasing on the Flexee knitting loom.

Another walk! Same trail. Kali wanted to come. She starts with wanting to run.  I try to do my best. But quickly she’s tired and I feel cruel as I have no choice but to kind of drag her along. She won’t let me carry her. It’s already equally far to continue the route to turning around. She’s okay now. Chris and I did just fine. Everything is slower with Kali. It’s like taking a toddler for a walk. A block is miles!

Obviously when I screenshot, I didn’t realize I was chatting with my son’s Significant Other.❤️

Here’s what made me happy.

A bit of dragon head, wing, background.

Here’s the healthy.

Kali, Chris, and I. 👍

Kali was cute. Last time I tried to take her for a walk she wouldn’t let me put her harness on. She had to stay home.

Today I was putting on my shoes. She let me know she didn’t want to be left behind. She laid still while I put on her harness.

Oh the walk she wanted to jog. So we did a few steps. Then I got winded. She pulled on me.

We went down a street we haven’t walked for a while. I nearly had to pull her. Once we got to our street, she knew where she was and wanted to run. I gave her a few more jogs then back to walking. She pulled me again.

Kali is tuckered out.

For a little old lady puppy, Kali breaks my heart with cute. For some reason, she looks like a little hand puppet as she climbs into bed at night.

A gift my hubby bought both of us. Not the expensive, does everything Fitbit, but it does keep track of the basics. Now I just need to get used to wearing it. And then it needs to be warmer than 32 outside so walks won’t hurt.

This weekend we might get rain. I’m thinking wellies, raincoat and umbrella and rain dance of thankfulness.
Hopeful.

You know how they say dogs look like their owners? Well, I am freckled. And so is Kali.

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 14th, 2022, is “freckled.” Use the word “freckled” any way you’d like. Have fun!

Combo One-Liner Wednesday and #JusJoJan.
Another truth found on Facebook.

Happy Christmas Eve, Eve. Be glad for indoor plumbing.

See those footprints? Yeah. Kali wishes she wasn’t the only one who uses outside.

But she uses Dad’s chair more than Dad! Much contemplating on coming back as a cat or human.
From my dog and house to yours with love!

Het up on the hot day the German man

seinen Hut aufsetze,

or put on his hat.

Aber when the temperature hit triple digits, he hid in his hut.

Even the sombrero wearer next door knew when to give up and take a siesta.

That sums up the days here on the west coast. We didn't hit the triple but got mighty close. I didn't go outside. Even Kali chose the chair in line with the breeze from the fan.

On a hot day, we stayed cool!

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “hat/het/hit/hot/hut.” Choose one, choose ’em all, put ’em in your post. Enjoy!

Misery Monday

Well, not for me necessarily.  In fact, my day ended looking like this.

For Teddy, it was a horrid day that has lasted 24 hours. After a long trip
in the car (four hours) and a stressful time at the vet, he was tired. So he
slept until I finally started to get to sleep at 1 AM. At that point, he
started drooling again. Chris got up to give him the pain meds. Not one I like
the idea of. Gabapentin.

They told me to video the subsequent seizure so they could tell more about
it. So I got up to follow The Tedster around. He vocalized his unhappiness with
the world for a couple hours. I swear he likes to pace and chat. He told me
about Mariah. Said a lot more things, and sometimes it felt like he said,
‘Anyways.’ So maybe he likes Ms. Carey’s Christmas albums or something? By the
time he was circling the coffee table, it wasn’t so loud as a constant chat. He
finally had said enough. He hopped up onto my lap and fell asleep. 4 AM. I’d
listened and given the support that whole time. I was exhausted. But getting up
from the chair was nearly impossible as tired as I was.

I managed to get back to bed. Wow! Having pets is more challenging sometimes
than having human baby newborns! Or maybe that’s why Septuagenarians don’t have
babies.

My son and I managed to get in a bit of walk. We didn’t make the mile
because Kali got tired. I nearly had to drag her home. We stopped as she caught
her breath. I gave her water. But she didn’t drink. We got back home, and she
crashed on the couch. So I guess she’s next to see the vet. She doesn’t run out
of energy. This is odd. Maybe Teddy kept her awake, too?

Well, maybe I should take the hint and go to bed while I can!

A to Z Challenge, V

The little bit we got Sunday Morning
This morning (7 AM) backyard
Obviously the snow blew in from the east.
Toward the driveway. Mesquite buses full of snow.
Toward west side of front yard.
Looking north
I just loved how the mesquite looked.
Ground brown mud but look at the sky!
Blue skies fading but leftover clouds proudly pink and purple!
The reason I had to see this beauty all day.
Thank you, Kali!

But let me take a moment to do a memorial. My son, Logan, just lost his best friend, Vader. For quite a while Kali and her mommy (Laura) lived with Vader and Logan. And these, my grandpuppies, played together. Kali thought she was the one in charge. Vader was just a lovable, laid-back, lapdog. Well, far too big for a lap. But he was Mutt (the big one) to Kali’s Jeff (the little one) It is breaking my heart as I love that big brute so much. I know my son must be a mess, Here are pictures of Vader when he was younger and recently.

RIP Vader
