Sunday Smile

This is what I woke up to this morning. Melted my heart! She is so cute!

I saw the above on FaceBook today and giggled.

Now at 10:52PM, I have three furry people sleeping.

Like this one:

Teddy meditates after licking the gravy from his wet food. We feed these monsters so late so that they will let us sleep all night.

It just happened. That nightly ritual. “Dad” gets the cats off his lap and I start giving the cheer to Kali about what is happening in the kitchen. Some would say these guys are spoiled. I don’t know. Yes, there is half a minute that each dish is warmed in the microwave. Then “Dad” brings the dishes in our room and puts down Rosey’s first. Kali waits patiently as hers is second, Then Prince Teddy must be found and picked up and placed in front of his food.

Then the chewing and chomping and slurping begins. To the observer, everyone is in their places. Until they aren’t. Teddy finished with gravy jumps up on my bed and takes a quick bath and stares off into space. Rosey and Kali exchange bowls. Then Rosey finishes Teddy’s and Kali makes sure they are all empty. Sometimes I find the bowls in the bathroom or under the bed, they are so thorough in their nightly gnashings.

Kali then settles near me and Rosey gets back to “Dad’s” lap. The rest of the night they are quiet.

If you didn’t know, Chew/choo was the prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday. Thank you Linda G. Hill for this fun challenge.

Linda’s prompt for this SoCS is Rosy. Which I am going to change to Rosey. You’ll see why. I hope.

In many parts of the country, we are experiencing a lag in the Spring-ness. It is so all-encompassing that this meme is showing up on our FaceBook feeds.

I say that because here is it windy and raining a LOT. The good part is that it might forestall fires. But the wind doesn’t and the rain comes with lightning, so– not so much. Anyway, I was forced to take the dog (Kali) out as is her way. I opened the screen door and the wind nearly tore it out of my hand. I nearly closed it on Kali and the wind had it again. Now I see this black creature climbing down the steps as Kali was climbing back up.

Rosey and Teddy are the indoor cats. Too many predators to let them be outside. So I ran down the steps in my socks and picked up Rosey.  She’s usually a sweetie and so cute, see:

But as I pick her up and tell Kali to go up and in the house, Rosey turns and does this to me:

I didn’t even know she drew blood until after I sat down. I was FaceTiming with friends and I showed them. They had me leave the conversation to clean it and treat it so it wouldn’t get infected.

Today as I was trying to finish a couple more dolls, Kali and Rosey sat on my lap, I think to make it up to me, but it makes it hard to sew with those two taking up the lap-space.

(This picture wasn’t taken today. I wasn’t on my bed in my PJs! And they were on reversed sides! But you get the idea!)

So where was I? Oh yeah! I finished my last dolls. The last thing I do is put a dab of color on their cheeks giving them a rosy glow.

I won’t include the tute here. as I shared it on yesterday’s blog. But I think I am done with the dolls for a while. I have to sew some other toys in the next couple of days. This feeling of accomplishment gives my soul a rosy glow that nearly matches my Rosey scratches! 😀

Missing Mom on Monday

Not only did Kali give me a long lecture in woofish for leaving her all alone with Hubby and Son (and hasn’t left my side since I got home),

but these two slept in my chair waiting for me.

Teddy blends in with the cover on my coccyx pillow. Rosey is hard to see as she is the black shadow behind him.

My Spanish/English dictionary is there so I can start writing letters or little stories in Spanish. Hubby took the picture so I would feel missed. Isn’t he the sweetest? ❤

Today’s letter in the A-to-Z Challenge is F and the prompt for Stream of Consciousness is the word Fab used as part of a word or alone. Since I don’t see Fab as part of my story I’m writing, I’ll just stream a bit about how fabulous it has been to visit with my daughter and son today. They took off work yesterday, drove half the trip and stayed at a motel. They got here this morning It was windy which made getting out and enjoying the day outside nearly impossible. But Kali’s mommy took her out for a jog anyway. Kali was so happy and now is exhausted. By the way, my daughter was silly and wrote “Dorg” on the picture. LOL! We get to have breakfast with them before they take that long trip home. I’m so glad they got to come even for a short visit.

Meanwhile below is the first couple paragraphs I wrote in my CampNaNo project. Again, I went to a random word generator and picked up 20. But in the writing, I think I added more. Again, I know that this may sound confusing, like coming into a conversation not knowing much of anything. I just want to prove my combination of A2Z and CampNaNo. This book seems to be pulling from all the books about Haven I’ve done so far.

Finally after eating Dusty remembered. “I forgot to tell you that the spin and orbit of Haven have changed. We think that may be one factor why everything isn’t functioning at full force.” She glanced at the end of the table and noticed that Henry (Judy’s husband) seemed to have his head in the bowl.

When he noticed everyone staring he wiped his face and smiled. “This soup is so full of flavor!”

Robert (Anna’s husband) and Adam (Beth’s husband) laughed. “I don’t know how you stay so thin! You are eating all the time!” Robert said. “I have to watch my girlish figure!” Again the three laughed. They had been friends from the very beginning. They were half of the original six. Robert had known Anna back on Earth and they reconnected quickly. Henry, Anna’s brother, connected with Judy. Judy was the botanist and zoologist, a very serious scientist. Henry was funny. Smart and interested in everything, but funny. Judy needed that. The six were as faithful to their spouses as they were to each other. They all pursued their own intellectual passions so that when they were with their mates their time was fresh, new, exciting. They were family. There were no favorites, they worked to keep it fair.

Dusty held up her finger and the group quieted. They knew they had work to do. They just needed to figure it out. One thing was for sure, they weren’t going to leave it to fate. Still, as they sat there in human form, they realized that without being enhanced by Haven, by gene-poppers this would be a useless cause. One they would be sure to fail. They knew the first thing to do. They gathered out on the grass and held hands. There was a fraction of a second they thought they hadn’t factored in how different Earth was from Haven. But that thought didn’t last long. Suddenly there was the sound of a full freight train moving through. The temperature rose to the point they each thought they had a fever. Then they heard the voice. Dusty, Jade, and Mary had heard it in the cavern on Haven, Earth was speaking to them. Dusty indicated that they all change form, to dragon-up. They all knew that they would hear and understand Earth better telepathically as dragons.

__________

Lots more to write before I sleep. Hope you had a great Saturday, full of fab fun!

Kali Wants Attention 20190325

Oh, no.

I don’t want to bug her.

Mom?

Shoot she didn’t get it!

Can you hear me now?

It worked.

One-Liner Wednesday 20190213

Why is there a heart on the hallway floor?

I said that today. Nobody claimed it. On closer examination, it looked like a piece of paper towel that Kali had ripped. That is her hobby, finding paper towels to tear up. Could my dog be leaving me Valentines? Should I tell her she’s a day early? Oh, and just when I thought no one would have picked it up (an illness of all in this house) so as to take a picture, it was gone. It looked just like this:

One-liner Wednesday is another of Linda G. Hill’s challenges for all of us to enjoy.

What do you do with a Friday that didn’t work out as planned?

I couldn’t take the trip to town, Flare. Body predicting cold snowy weather. Husband and son volunteer. But snow would be coming too soon. Canceled. But need groceries. Even as we discussed what to do flurries were gathering on the banister of the porch.

Yeah, the old snow never melted so this coming week should be interesting.

DH and brother drive to little town. Get necessities which in the case of the snow that had started celebratory pizza.

While they were gone my friends and I got together over the internet and laughed and talked for hours. Friends are great!  They made me feel like this:

This evening while trying to figure out what to share here, Teddy came to visit with me.

“Mom, I’m bored.”

“Wanna play?”

“Nah.”

Then he marched off my bed to see what other mischiefs he could get into.

More snow expected over the next week. It is pretty. But worry about Kali and her outside times. Much deeper and she will disappear.

Friends, family, furballs, pizza. Who could ask for more? Snowed in? What do you do?

I had no idea what I was going to write about tonight. But I wanted to because I’m getting rather used to writing something every day.

So I took a few pics of Kali. When all else fails Pictures!

She loves it when I give her hugs or when I whisper sweet nothings in her ears. She will sit for a long time enjoying that one on one attention. She is so sweet!

When she isn’t attached to me, I am knitting. Here’s my newest accomplishment: Red hats for February.

And I’m learning to make little socks!

Had enough of that thinner yarn to make another little infant hat.

It is still cold here and another storm is expected this weekend through next Wednesday. Kali and I are happy that the porch and the bottom of the steps are not icy or snowy.

Chair Yoga continues. I’m not making a lot of progress but with Fibro, I’m happy to do the exercise every day without adding more pain. And now my husband is pulling up a chair and we work out together! 😀

I finished True Blood. It wasn’t nearly as scary as I thought it would be. In fact, I found it a bit silly at times. I hate finishing a series as then I flounder trying to find something else for pain distraction. Today I watched Knowing I think it was on Showtime. It was really good!

How’s your Thursday?

One-Liner Wednesday 20190206

It’s a dog’s life! Go outside, do your business, get a cookie. Where’s MY cookie? Okay. I don’t have to do it in the snow like she does.

Pinging Linda.
