I remember we ‘grands’ spread out on our grandparents’ floor after church. Not laughing, unless Silly Putty was involved. The colorful comics seemed more truths than humor
A couple stood out over the years. The one above (but my parents wouldn’t allow a dog inside to sleep.)
One little guy with a huge sombrero in a wagon his rope lassoed on a star. I think the caption was ‘aim for the stars and when you find the one you love, hang on.’
Another was eighth notes hanging out on the piano. One sitting on the music stand covered with cobwebs. That one says, “How can you tell I haven’t practiced?” See? Truth.
The mouse ran through the tower that was a knight, that night to save his friend.Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “tower.” Use it as a noun, use it as a verb, use any way you’d like. Have fun!
Maybe you wonder why I post Sunday Funnies. When I was young we’d go to our grandparents’ homes (they lived two houses from each other) after church. My dad’s parents always had the Sunday newspaper with the funnies. We grands would gather on the floor and devour the comics.
Both sets of grandparents had cooky jars. So this hit my nostalgia bones today. I miss those days, all the people, comics, Silly Putty…
