Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “chapter.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

I’m wanting to share quite a bit here. But too many people are involved. Remember how I mentioned the inability to write? Yeah. It came on even stronger. I feel that it is time to write a whole new chapter in my memoir. At least for my adult children to know more about their father. Not the bad times . They already knew all that. But about fun times. Laughter. The stuff I fell in love with.

Writing the first part of my book for a NaNo challenge a while back, really helped me feel better about my life. Maybe writing the rest can help family.

Your prompt for #JusJoJan the 31st and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “scratch an itch.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

The first thing this morning, before I saw the prompt, my husband came into the room grabbed this and started on an itch in the middle of his back. I should have snapped that picture, oh, well.

Our bingeing Saturday began with Jurassic Park 2 and 3. That gave me the chance to scratch my language itch. I did a few units of Latin. I like oft-watched shows while I learn. Who hasn’t memorized our dino shows?

Latin was my first language class of high school. Mrs. Young set us up with ‘A’s and if we turned in our homework every day we’d end with an ‘A’. She was so informative with the arts and sciences of ancient Rome

The text book from the class had interesting and fun stories to translate.

Recently, a word came up on Duolingo, ‘laetus’. I remembered the story of the Ant and the Grasshopper. Translating that story had been so much fun, with cartoons in my head.

A while ago I picked this textbook up at a second hand-store or used book store.

So far it isn’t as fun as my old textbook, but it is filling in cracks of information that Duo doesn’t supply.

We moved to our Will Trent binge.

Newer stuff means I work less intensely. I started on Italian as it isn’t as hard. It is fun for me. It scratches that linguaphile itch.

Your prompt for #JusJoJan the 24th and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “take another look.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

When you are my age everything demands you take another look. Did I really put the keys in the fridge? What was the microwave instruction on this “easy” dinner? I pull them out of the trash many times, not just once.

Taking more than one look at different stages, decisions,  resentments in our lives occur.  ‘What could I have done differently or better?’

But second guessing colors the situation in today’s colors. And if you can’t remember the recipe and it’s right there on the box, and today’s business finds keys next to the butter, can we possibly second guess what happened decades ago?

We did our best then in the light of that day. That’s all we can do with today. We’re busy people with more worries than ever before. Forgive yourself so you can forgive others.

Your prompt for #JusJoJan the 17th and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is is: “favorite saying.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

I was a teenager when ‘Groovy’ was the saying. My term has come from farther than that. It’s embarrassing, really  But the word I probably use the most is ‘Cool’. I think that goes back to the Beatnik era. I’d look it up but once again, I’m tired and don’t feel like doing the research.

That’s okay. I’m cool. 😎

Per Linda: Your prompt for #JusJoJan the 10th and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “don’t get me started.” Use the phrase in your post or just write about the first thing it conjures in your mind. Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Just don’t get me started. I won’t quit. I’ll need more. An example I’m on my umpteenth binge-watch of Grey’s Anatomy. This time I have my husband joining me. I know he’s in as he took note of the season and episode so he could keep up when he went to our room to put his feet up. My favorite episode. But the beginning is not for the squeamish.

Two Octobers ago I decided to play piano. I started with a scale or melody. Now a year and a couple of months I’m up to an hour of playing. I’m enjoying the heck out of what I’m learning. And don’t get me started playing Christmas songs. Due to the Charlie Brown jazzy/bluesy songs I can’t quit. (We did finally take down the trees and decorations.)

I seem to get addicted to things, like Duolingo.

And don’t get me started on this cutie (Milo) who can’t get close enough as we both enjoy the warmth of the electric lap blanket.

Your prompt for #JusJoJan the 3rd and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “fast/slow.” Use one, use both, use them any way you’d like. Bonus points if you use them both! Enjoy!

Yesterday I shared one of the reasons I prefer acoustic piano, or voice, as we can control volume according to emotional intensity within the artist and directed by composition.

Rhythm and how fast or slow a piece of a portion of it can affect or reflect our emotions.

A piece can hold many speeds from grave to presto. Like conversations. We don’t speak one or the other. Well, except certain chemistry teachers in my past during the first period. Hence a C… But that’s another stream.

Music reflects life which is both fast (is it already the third of January?) and slow (why does Christmas take so long when we’re kids?)

Okay, I’m down to the trickle so time to dance!

Stream of Consciousness Saturday, plot

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “plot.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

My stream is more of a dot.

COVID dries up every thought.

How could one come up with a plot?

Well, sadly, this is all I got.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “batter/better/bitter/butter.” Use one, use all four (for bonus points), use ’em any way you’d like. Have fun!

The player on home-plate stirs butter into the batter as the jeers of, “Bitter!” ascend.

She was last to be picked. But now she has an idea to make it better.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “usual.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Today has been not only UNusual, it has been spectacular! You know how it feels when you get to chat with someone you haven’t talked with in years?

I feel like I met with royalty. Well, in my life that’s where family, Cuz’ns land. I’m still smiling.

We reminisced about simpler times hanging out at our grandparents’ home, ringer washers, clotheslines, washtub swimming pools, the kindest people who raised our family. The Sunday afternoons, after church in a house that love built. And that felt usual to us. And we felt blessed.

The mouse ran through the tower that was a knight, that night to save his friend.
