I’m grateful for my new laptop but have to admit my frustrations of starting over. All my writing in yWriter7 and WriteItNow and Scrivener are stuck in RTF form and tons of work awaits to bring them back to life. So that’s my time lately in a nutshell.

Sadly I have to report I didn’t get but half my word count goal this month. But I had a marvelous time with family and friends, so not really complaining. Just reporting.

Purple waterfall is nearly finished. Front lit.
Back lit
These charms are finished on both sides. I still need to apply sealant and then figure how to make the mobile out of them.
This is the next hand-held charm to work on. These are great for times when you don’t want to bend over the bigger pictures.
Barely made any headway on these. They are almost finished!
Started another pair of cotton spa slippers. I love this yarn my friend gifted me.
Today our three furries had a vet appointment. These two seem none the worse for the wear. Three hours in the non-AC truck can with all windows open. But their prognoses (is that plural?), Rosey, the black one is old but healthiest of the bunch. Not even considered overweight. Her seizures to be watched, nothing more to be done. Teddy, the ginger, has cancer sores in his mouth and had to get a steroid shot. And drops to take. He hates that.
Kali is old and has arthritis, is deaf, with cataracts. Nothing we can do but give pain meds. She is meandering as is her habit. That’s why the picture is blurry. It’s probably time for her meds . Poor babies.

While my brother and husband did the vet run. My son and I cleaned. He worked on the out of control mud room. I shampooed the carpets. It was nice not to have furballs in the way. We were successful in our ventures. Now I need to finish cleaning out the shampooer. Yuck!

Crazy Sunday

This sweetie scared me to tears this morning. He’s been more vocal than usual. He sounds like a newborn when he cries.

Suddenly he was on the table drooling and running in circles. He fell off the table and still drooling and more chasing his tail, then suddenly he was on the floor seizing.

I thought for sure he was dying. He’s my buddy! No!

Then he calms down. I called the vet and they asked us to bring him in.

He has had a bad tooth infection. So we figured it was back.

Teddy loves to ride in cars. He came to us as a kitten.

My son’s girlfriend was driving from Garden Grove to Reno. She chose to drive at night. Less traffic, cooler. Just as she got into the car this ginger kitten jumped in.

It was too late to see who he belonged to. She did have her mom call around and never found his owner.

He loved the trip. She bought a kitty litter, food and water for him at a pit stop.

He loved the moving trip here five years ago.

I tried to find the picture couldn’t find it. Sorry.

Anyway, he loved the trip to the vet today, in spite of his pain.

The vet said he declined the butt-temp check, he declined the check for the the bad tooth, and he declined the poke for hydration. I think that was kind for he wasn’t about to have any of that!

The vet did manage to give him an antibiotic shot that should last two weeks and she gave us some pain killer if he should be in pain.

The trip home was so nice as he loved watching the world go by or nap.

Now we’re all home and ready to sleep.

Trip to Vet Tuesday

Poor Kali had to go to the vet today.

I stayed home to deal with phone calls.

I’m not sure whose day was the worst.

Results for both of us were good outcomes.

I think.

She’s okay. Got a shot  and nail trim. Meds for old lady pains in hips. Need to wait for labs on poop. No idea why the incontinence.

My results are more appointments for the next few months. And still no shots. Ugh. I’ll have to adult and people soon.

Just Jot It January–Button

Who’s as cute as a button?

‘I dunno. Bet she’s trying to give me that disgusting medicine. But… I am as cute as a button. she’s told me that!’

Poor Kali had to go to the vet today. We found blood in her urine. That hour and a half drive is horrid for her on good days. After all is said and done, there was an infection, and she has to take amoxicillin. She doesn’t like it at all.

Speaking of buttons, what is this project with all the buttons? I have a lot of sewing to do. Ugh! I love knitting and crochet, but I hate sewing. But when the projects are done, I will share the results.

Per Linda:

“Here are the JusJoJan Rules:

1. Just Jot It January starts January 1st, but it’s never too late to join in! Here, we run on the honour system; the “jot it” part of JusJoJan means that anything you jot down, anywhere (it doesn’t have to be a post, it can even be a grocery list), counts as a “jot.” If it makes it to your blog that day, great! If it waits a week to get from a sticky note to your screen, no problem!

2. I’ll post prompts at 2am my time (GMT -5). The prompt will be the word in quotation marks in the title of my 2am post. You don’t have to follow the prompt every day, but that will be where you leave your link for others to see. You’ll get a prompt for every day except Wednesday, when the prompt is simply my One-Liner Wednesday and on Saturday, when your prompt will be the Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS, which will appear at about 9:30am Friday. Each prompt post will include the rules.

3. Please ping back or link to the daily prompt. To ping back, just copy the URL from the daily prompt post, and paste it anywhere in your post. Check to make sure your link shows up where you want it to, and go back occasionally to see other bloggers’ entries – the more you visit others, the more they’ll visit you! Note: A) The newest pingbacks will be at the top of the comments section. B) Ping backs only work if you’re blogging on WordPress. Everyone else must paste a link manually.

4. Tag your post JusJoJan and/or #JusJoJan.

5. Write anything! Any length will do! It can even be a photo or a drawing – you’re going to title it, right? There’s your jot!

6. If your post is NSFW, do not ping back. Please leave your link in the comments with a warning.

7. If you’d like to, use the JusJoJan badge so that others can find your post more easily.

8. Have fun!”

This Guy

Teddy

Has had us scared for the last couple days. Falling instead of jumping off beds. Walking around like a drunk. Last night I felt him and he was cold and not moving. He’s about thirteen, so too young to leave this world.

My touching him was irritating. He left my bed for another.

We took him to the vet today. We think it is an inner ear infection. She started him with an antibiotic shot with more drops for us to continue twice a day for the duration. He’s back to eating and drinking.

He loves traveling, even when he’s sick. He got out of the carrier to watch the world go by. Nearly three hours of his favorite pastime. Even if he was the only drunk in the truck. 😉

Travel Day

Kali!

What?

Kali, we’re going Bye-bye!

Really?

To the vet?

Bleah!

But the trip in the new to us car was so smooth and we listened to music from my phone. No pain! The people at the vet were so sweet to her and she seemed happy to be there. Even the shots and nail trim didn’t seem to phase her. So she’s good for another year (three for the rabies shot). And I am not so scared of that long drive because it was nearly painless. Yay! Thanks to Kali’s Alma Mater I only had to pay $8 for the last part of the bill. Let’s have another YAY!

Now Kali sleeps.

Though painless the trip is long for all of us. I, too, had to nap when I got back.

How does a free blog site work when everything is tied to dollars? How do you create content without using proprietary themes when it seems even the colors and fonts are tied to upgrades for usage? Is it even possible? I hope to find out.
