I see many of you post your own stories on your blogs. Do you worry about theft of ideas or content?
Someone posted that they found they couldn’t back post or something like that. I have been avoiding posting my book reviews here because I have them in my LiveJournal and on my GoodReads and Amazon. Do you know if it is allow for me to copy and paste my reviews to here, also?
Thanks for your responses!

As long as you haven’t sold the rights to someone else for your work (like a magazine for instance), you’re free to do with it as you please. The only thing I ever worry about is, when I post the same thing in different places where I have the same people reading. Eventually they tend to get bored of seeing the same thing over and over again. π
Well, then I won’t put the reviews here! Thanks for the input. As for the stories, no eyes but mine have seen them. π Thanks for always being so helpful!
Any time π
What she said, as long as rights have not been sold.
Thank you, so much! Guess I’ll start cleaning up all those stories I have been saving. I wonder about my novels, if I should run them like a serial? I noticed that you’ve put together e-books of your poetry. Did you self publish?
Yes, I self published. The purpose of my blog was to bypass the need for a publisher or the traditional route. We will see if it plays out. π
Good luck. It seems a good bet to self-publish these days. I think that is the route I have to follow, too. π
As long as you have an audience. π
That will need to be built, I’m sure, though Sci-fi fantasy seems popular these days. When I get paid I will have to buy one or your books. It has been a long time since I was into poetry. I think I need to get back into it.
π Well that is very kind if you do. I just dabble in poetry, I am not a poet though heh.
It’s all about self-expression. It would seem that is something an Opinionated Man would be good at! π
Heh, it would seem. π
I was at a really cool talk with authors K.W. Jeter & Paul Di Filippo a few weeks ago. One thing they said really stood out to me. I paraphrase, βDonβt worry about theft. Worry about being seen. Itβs a much greater problem to get people to notice you than theft is.β
I say put your stuff out there. I know John Scalzi (http://whatever.scalzi.com/) has posted a novel in parts on his blog, then turned around and gotten it published.
Taking a deep, shaky breath… Okay. I will go into the attic of my dusty writings and gradually put them out there. My heart and soul are not my stories so they will be first. Novels need to wait a bit. Thanks for your encouragement, information and support always.
