What container is bottomless yet too full?
Kali is a conundrum. She seems to be either anorexic or bulimic. She will refuse to eat for a day or so. Finally, she eats grass. Feels better. Then can’t get enough food, even dog food. I thought it was a result of her favorite snack, kitty litter. But with four of us watching and my brother being an excellent delitterer we have eliminated that eliminated issue. She definitely doesn’t like dog food. Dry or wet. But she is sneaking into the dry cat food and will only eat the wet cat food. We only just noticed it today, the dry cat food grazing. Children are much easier for me than a dog. Cats are easier than dogs.
Google has many suggestions but none work out for us. The baby gate won’t work the rooms we feed them in are without doorways. We don’t have a cat tree, wish we did but don’t have the money to buy one. The dog can jump as high as the cats. They are all older animals so shouldn’t be doing that anyway. The cats are grazers except for the night wet feed we do in our own defense so we can get a good night’s sleep. Mighty Dog or other wet dog foods don’t interest Kali. She loves what her feline siblings are having.
The vet didn’t seem to have any answers for us. We know her teeth are old and maybe a part of the problem. Heck, my six months of lock-down were more tooth problems than a pandemic, so I understand if that is the issue. But the vet didn’t have much to say. She seemed to think Kali is healthy and I am sure even back in March when we took her, she was already a faux kitty.
So containers of food, containers of water, containers of kitty litter, and Kali the weirdest container of all, all are confusing as to how and why. Still, she is a container of love most of all.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “container.” Use the word “container” any way you’d like. Or think about a container of some kind and write about it. Enjoy!

I love that Kali is a bottomless container of love. I believe that is true of all dogs 💜
That is what saves her life. That and cute. I always told my kids that cute is what kept them alive on their naughty days. LOL! We both know it is the love. 😉 ❤ 💜
Yes that is so true 💜
We had a cat who thought he was dog… sounds like you have a dog who wants to be a cat. Would there be any harm in giving him cat food?
From what I’ve read the protein and fat content of cat food make it bad for the dog. I didn’t read about the reverse because our cats don’t have that confusion. LOL! Silly dog!
When my dog wanted to eat the cat litter, I put the cat box in the tub in the spare bathroom until I got her trained to do her business outside. Saved both animals in the process I believe. Of course, we have a doggy door that all three animals use, and we live in the suburbs, not out in the country. That probably makes a difference. Good luck!
Those are good ideas. Especially that they worked for your pets. But, yeah, coyotes, hawks, eagles, loose dogs mix the doggie-door. When Kali goes out one of us watch out for her. The cats have to kitty litter. I have used the tub in other homes with new kittens. It kept everything in one place and easy to clean. But our tub is a raised clawfoot. Our old cats can’t make that jump. Maybe other pet parents could use these great ideas! 💜😊
