Another pair of Fleegle heeled Toe-Up-Two-At-A-Time Caron Peacock jumbo yarn. These are a little too big for me, so a friend will get them. I need to get them in the mail quickly before summer takes over.

Reviewing this pattern again was fun. I like getting to know a pattern to reinforce my memory, so I don’t need to look at YouTube or patterns. I rate this pattern and this yarn 100! I love it. The above URL takes you to Happee’s Ravelry page. But here are my favorite YouTube tutorials for this sock. These ROCK!

I know I shared this before, but I feel someone who hasn’t seen it might need it. Therefore I feel no remorse at the repeat. Repetition helps all of us learn.

According to the pattern, the following is one of the best ways to bind off.

Roughly speaking, I rarely can make a pair of socks in less than a week. Reasonably speaking, it takes two weeks to a month as I rarely work on one pair at a time. I always have a bunch of projects going on. It helps keep my hands from hurting by changing out sizes and yarns.

I guess I should reflect on my novel Reflexions. Yikes, lots of research and very little actual writing. So I may have to lower my expectations for this month. I may only get only a couple thousand words. But I am still loving the story, so I will do the best I can and continue next month.

Okay, it is getting late. Time to retire and relax. Despite the kookiness, this was

A to Z Challenge, Q (Sorry)

Quickly, because I still have a ton of real-life stuff to do,

Quietly, so as to calm my soul

Questioningly, I wonder why I am here instead of doing Du—o, True!

I realized this was a quirky mess that I should

QUIT!

(See ya tomorrow. This wasn’t a cry for help unless a teacher wanted to quiz me on horrid poetry. I just needed to get Q out of the queue!)

The Lost World (Jurassic Park, #2)The Lost World by Michael Crichton
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was not as fun as the movies. I never felt anything for any of the characters. It seemed the book was about the gruesome as often as possible. But without caring about the characters, I felt nothing about them becoming dino snacks.

On the other hand, I could tell the amount of research that went into these books. And the author implemented the knowledge within the world he created.

I didn’t dislike the book; I felt it wasn’t as good as the first one. You may like it far more than I did. Or maybe you’ll not like it at all. I think it is very individual in how that works. And I think where a person is in their lives

Still, reading this before sleep was hard. Especially when the RV goes over the cliff. Actually, this wasn’t as scary as the movie. I sweat just thinking about that scenario.

It was fun seeing where certain scenes of the movie came from. Well worth the read.

Nowadays, my NaNo is slowing down. Creating beings and planets, including new languages, is so hard for me. It is hard enough to describe things I can see and touch. Creating beyond those languages I am playing with seems impossible. So writing fast and a lot is not working for the moment. I have to think through everything. And all this using other beings’ viewpoints. This book has mermaids that can travel in space in a cloud of their own environment. But they can’t look like OUR mermaids, can they? Would we like them and want to help them if they are ugly? That’s not nice, but it is a fact of our nature we need to overcome. Not easy. So over the next few days, I will try to acquaint myself with creatures of undetermined qualities from places never known. They’ll need names, beings, and planets. Welcome to my world: NaNotopia!

By the way, I don’t think I’ve shared the current cover art.

Since I can’t find an N pic I’m guessing we take a day off every now and then from A to Z Challenge?

Meanwhile, this is interesting:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “starts with mono.” Find a word that starts with “mono” and use it in your post. Enjoy!

Mono Lake is one of the most enchanting places on Earth. On a solo drive from Southern California to Reno it captured my imagination during a rest stop at sunset. I wish I had taken pictures. The tufa looked like fairy castles and the little flies were the fae. Please click on the underlined Mono to see a bit of wonder. As I pulled into the scenic view “Time to Say Goodbye” was playing on my Camry’s CD player.

My favorite song, I think.

Here’s another view of Mono Lake:

Be glad I chose not to tell you about my non-kissed mononucleosis. The lake is far cheerier !🤪

Let me be honest. Lately, laziness lulls around me. Loosely speaking, I lean towards lolly-gagging and shenanigans. Little gets done that isn’t fun. At least for me. But I am busier than ever. And I better get going as I’m going to be late.

I think others will like this book. I think I might have liked an audio version rather than the Kindle text-to-speech. Maybe it was just I wasn’t into it. I put the speed faster to finish the book.

It had a good storyline. Which is why I feel it was just me not being in the mood for it right now. I do love the cover, so beautiful. As was the concept. So just take it as a me thing. It was a Kindle Libby, so it was free. Try it; you might love it!
