Finally Floundering February bids us adieu. And right on the Mark March brings ideas to move forward.
A couple years ago my cousin sent me a tape recorder and asked me to write (record) my memoirs.
I chickened out. Plain and simple. But I did write my memories. So here’s my idea (and I’m already a day late!) I will record, read aloud and edit the memories and edit as I go. I put it in NaNo as this month’s goal. I added my last Nano novel. Both books are 15k each. I plan to read aloud and edit that one, too.
I may have bit off more than I can chew. Maybe I’ll prioritize the memoir. No more Floundering, just get busy!
By the way, for those who tried, thanks for playing 😀
In other news we have winter starting now. Alaska is sending us a cold front.

Meanwhile, for Finishing Friday:

I finished The Mammoth Hunters but haven’t had the chance to write the review. I’m loving reading the series again.
It’s snowing again. It’s so pretty. I’m glad the rodent was wrong!

Thanks for the Floundering February prompt. It was fun to see how I could implement that in every post for February.
I’m glad you joined me and it helped motivate the muses!❤️
My goodness, how did y’all end up in the middle of nowhere? Do you not worry about being older now and not being close to town in case of an emergency? I’d go bonkers in a place that isolated.
A decade ago we found big city life too expensive. My friend lived here and was letting her mortgage be assumed. I did a run down and found that even, just on my pay, I could cover the bills. I’m grateful that Chris actually can handle most with a bit to spare. He gets vet benefits but, you are right it is all an hour to two hours away. My health is harder. We can afford to live here but driving and eating are more expensive. And as we age it is getting harder. There are senior buses to get us there. But as much as I love the big sky, we’re looking at another move. Ugh! I love moving. I hate how much it costs.
I understand! I love the moving, just not the packing it up. Even with our lifestyle, moving day is a little stressful, but mostly on the dogs.
Is there an active senior community in your area that might be an option? What is the nearest town to you?
Our little town does have a clinic that will be open soon. There are three little stores and a couple farm stores and auto repairers. There is a little library. Oh, and a gas station and post office. But the nearest real towns are 1 1/2 and then 2 hours away. We do have the mercy flights that get us to a hospital in 15 minutes but the wait for it is a bit scary. We just went through that with my husband having something strange in his chest. It wasn’t a heart attack. I think it would have all been faster had it been recognizable as such. But in that sense we were there before we could have had we lived in the city, ya know?
I remember every year as a kid my folks took us camping for three weeks. Sometimes we spread that out between parks. I think I got to know the feeling you and the dogs feel getting ready to go somewhere else. It was very hard on my mom. She was always sick on packing day. But whereas she stayed in the same house most of her life, I moved a lot. I think my ex and the kids an I moved 11-13 times while they were growing up. I’ve since moved at least three more times. I love new places and don’t mind packing. I don’t like the expense!

Hey Dar! Welcome to March! Enjoy the snow, or if you don’t, stay warm, curl up with a good book, and a mug of hot cocoa!
Hi! Thanks! I do love the snow, and all the rest!!!
