As of now, I have 3730 words in my new project, “Stories from the Ceiling”

My goal is the usual 50K. I had no plot, as the book No Plot No Problem by the guy who started this (Chris Baty) suggested.

This year I planned to select a picture or painting at random to write something creative about it. Instead, my husband and I bought something like this:

The one we got has fuzzy pictures. I have shared a couple of them, as they have been a part of the stories from the ceiling. We bought this to help with sleeping. Waking in the middle of the night and having something to look at except the little lights from chargers, etc. Since we weren’t happy with the fuzzy pictures, we found a better one; I hope that has more holograms and motion. I can’t wait to see whales swimming in my bedroom.

As for NaNo, there are a couple of websites to keep track of or even help with writing.

https://nano2.org

and the one I might use if I want to play with it:

Since I use a combination of WriteItNow (now defunct) for finding random characters and traits and yWriter7, I find the Studio Writing Habit website a bit cumbersome. But maybe some of you can use it.

What do you all use? What are ways you get inspired?
