Travel Day

Kali!

What?

Kali, we’re going Bye-bye!

Really?

To the vet?

Bleah!

But the trip in the new to us car was so smooth and we listened to music from my phone. No pain! The people at the vet were so sweet to her and she seemed happy to be there. Even the shots and nail trim didn’t seem to phase her. So she’s good for another year (three for the rabies shot). And I am not so scared of that long drive because it was nearly painless. Yay! Thanks to Kali’s Alma Mater I only had to pay $8 for the last part of the bill. Let’s have another YAY!

Now Kali sleeps.

Though painless the trip is long for all of us. I, too, had to nap when I got back.

Per Linda:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “figure.” Use the word “figure” any way you’d like. Have fun!

I didn’t know how to start or flow with the word figure. After all, that is more a left-brain sort of word rather than the right-brained sort that would work for me. So I looked at Pixabay.com and found this:

Pixabay.com

And it is amazing that today I got a gift from a friend via a mutual friend who came visiting today.

It had this in it:

I figure a friend who would send something like that to me knows me and loves me. What do you figure?

I figure I’m pretty lucky to be surrounded by love. And Christmas is going to be quite the tale (tail).

Sending out the love to all of you. Especially, my mermaid friend.

Finished Friday

Hat number two with same Caron Simply Soft acrylic yarn. Soft Pink, Orchid, and black. It is a soft yarn. But I don’t think that it is a good sock or slipper yarn as it isn’t very stretchy. Because of that, I chose to use the e-wrap knit stitch. The brim was a garter stitch which is one row of knit, one row of purl. The rest just the e-wrap mentioned before. I made this one the same KB white loom, 72 pegs, fine-gauge that I used for the hat just before this one. I’ve started another with the black yarn hoping to make a hat for a little boy. I hope I can finish by tomorrow.

I haven’t decided whether or not to make pom-poms those the girly hats look like they might be even cuter with them. I’m not a fan of pom-poms but I love making them on the little tools for them.

I get to see the family tomorrow! I can hardly wait! Snow is expected so praying for a safe drive.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Keep safe and healthy!

Not Quite Finished

By the end of the night, I will have finished this next hat. But I don’t have time to blog and knit to get the job on either properly. So here it is on the loom.

I do wish the pretty colors showed up better. They are all shiny. That is lavender, black, and pink. I’ll describe the process and name the yarn tomorrow. I need to get it done.

I hope you are all having a great Thursday!

One-Liner Wednesday

So my husband gave me a long explanation of how he fixed his breakfast in the microwave and forgot to scramble or poke the yoke. I’m looking at him wondering why the long story. He rubbed the side of his mustache and told me, “Well, I just realized that I had egg on my face when we kissed.” We both had clean faces so I wondered what it meant. Anyone?

Busy–Doc Martin

My friends have been going on about Doc Martin for a while. Well, they are right. We are now in our third season. I must admit that the first few of this show made me crazy and I nearly quit. Now I am so into it that I don’t have time for a proper blog tonight.

Enjoy!

Per Linda:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “ect.” Find a word with the letters “ect” in it, and base your post on that word. (Not to be confused with “et cetera,” which is “etc.”) Enjoy!

Perfect! The object of this blog prompt is words that have ‘ect’ in them. And me with a bit of dyslexia have to sort the words that seem to imply “and so on”. Meanwhile the subject on my mind is how Chrome keeps slowing the whole job down. I might type one word but then it all hangs up with “Chrome is not responding.”

No sense in worrying about it. I pick up my knitting and wait. Then I get distracted by Doc Martin. Appendectory here, expectorant there. How about an injection? I’ll never get this blog done. But the affects of computer problems is my own irritation. The effectiveness of getting the writing done, null.

Well, then, if nothing is going to happen here, I guess I’ll go get my yarn connection. The affection I have for soft yarn is purrfect! Oh, that was Teddy putting in his interjection.

Filmology Friday

Whatcha watchin’?

Here are the latest distractions I’ve had to help with knitting:

My inner mermaid needs water. A pool, or ocean. I miss swimming! Hence the second Mermaid show: Mako Mermaids, Just Add H2O

Okay, it is a bit silly. But I’m not only watching. It is background knitting music!

Another one for the background is Kipo. I wish my kids were young and I could watch this with them. So many teachable moments!

My husband and I caught up on Outlander. I’m still reading. I am a book behind the show. I’m reading (listening) as fast as I can.

My brother, son and I are binging on Better Call Saul. I have to admit that it is hard to watch the past after you’ve watched Breaking Bad and El Camino. No, this show doesn’t win any kind of Bechdel test. Hardly any female influences. I’m not a fan, but it is fun to watch with my guys.

A show to watch for teachable moments with younger people or men who could use this kind of knowledge, if you are able to handle that kind of thing. Otherwise best watched alone to save the embarrassment levels. There is much for all of us to learn–or discard, but interesting Gooplab:

A show that surprised me was I’m Not Okay With This. I really liked it, so did my brother.

Most of these are on Netflix. Outlander is only up to season 3 on Netflix. The rest is on Hulu.

Speaking of Hulu:

It is really good.

Well, I know there are many more. I even have listened to Pandora this past week so that I could read more of Outlander while knitting. I have a channel I call Pirates of the Caribbean, mostly of the shows but Game of Thrones and other movie music sneaks in there.

What’s your noise at the moment?

Toothache Thursday

Okay. It isn’t horrid. I have had a couple visions of an ice skate (Castaway). But I’m not to that point yet. In fact, I have an appointment to see:

Not as worried about the tooth. It is more the ride and the chair pain. Any suggestions?

Another day, another walk.

Nope, that’s not us. Hubby and I have on hats. The dog is Kali, white with spots. No walking sticks. No trees. Just desert.
