Finishing Friday

As soon as I do one more row the sock on the right will be ready for bind-off. The sock on the right could have been finished, but I wanted green on the cuff so I will tink down and add the green from a different part of the skein.
A fine gauge toe finished. On to the foot. I think I’ll do ribbing as I love how the Sneaker Socks feels.
A nice pair of slipper socks started.
Ribbing of a hat finished. Now on to the rest of the hat. I will have to buy more of this buttery soft yarn.
I need to have 28k by now. Sadly, I am 4k behind. So back to work.
Yeah. At this rate I’ll be done December 5. 😥
Saw this on Facebook. Cute, huh?

Shaking Head

Who makes cakes when they need 4,000 words?

I do.

Okay. Time to write. Maybe someday I can play with this yarn!

Finishing Friday

Maybe.

You see these crazy fun socks were nearly to the heel part. I found a mistake. Tinking back.

See the markers up near the needles? That’s how far I needed to tink.
This yarn is so cute and fun! Makes me want to do them up nice.
Now just a little more than toes. But a chance to make a better pair.

A quick NaNoWriMo report. Empty now has 15,231 words. I should have 16,670. So back to the storyboard.

Ta-Da Tuesday

After months and so many tinks, nearly remaking these several times over, I finally finished my Sneaker Socks. These will bring back all the memories of the wedding and Wisconsin. I brought these and the hat I just finished a couple of days ago. The hat was helpful as it was easier and didn’t need the concentration these socks took. I constantly made mistakes and had to find my way back.

So comfortable!
Low enough for sneakers.

I didn’t think I’d like that ribbing in the foot area, but it feels like a foot hug. I love it! I may add that to future socks.

I know I’ve shared the tutorials before but these have helped me a lot!

She has a three-part knit along.

I followed most of it. But the bind off was too hard for me. Instead I went with my fav, Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind off. Even that had to be tinked and redone a couple of times.

Making Monday on Sunday

Just in case you think I quit knitting. Here’s what I finished today. Someone I love will get this.

Finishing Friday

The center section of the Afghan is nearly finished. My son is holding it up to show how long it is. I do have one side panel nearly as long. I still need to make yet another panel then sew up the three parts. For this mid section I’ve been using a size K ChiaoGoo Tunisian cable hook. I’ll be glad when this is done. I don’t like working on something this big.
When I just can’t crochet another moment I’m working on another pair of Sneaker socks. I need another half inch of this arch part. Ribbing is beginning to be more fun since working Continental. These are ChiaoGoo Red-lace Circular Needles 2.

I don’t have a pattern for the Afghan. Just the basic Tunisian Crochet stitch. It is getting boring, but I think it’ll be warm.

This is what I’m using for the socks.

Have a great weekend!

Making Monday

I am in the middle of so many projects right now that I thought I’d dedicate this one to a want to make. A Fingerknit hat!

I’d also like to make a shawl, poncho, or cape for my witch costume.

I have two pairs of knitted socks nearly finished. And a Tunisian Crocheted afghan is in the works. But I will need a couple more pieces for my costume at my daughter’s costume wedding reception. So I am putting my ideas here so I won’t lose them.

Okay, I guess I should share the pics of what’s been done so far. All this needs to be done by the first week in October.

Remember the Hiya-Hiya Flyer pair of socks? I decided to put them on a long Chiaogoo Red Lace 60″ US 1 needle. I need to finish the foot and then the toe.

These are going to someone with small feet. I’m finding I don’t like doing cuff up socks.
These are Toe-up Two At A Time Sneaker Socks. I’m working on the arch section now.
This is the center section of the Tunisian Crochet Afghan. Notice how this stitch curls. I have to weigh it down with the mouse and the remote. But I like how fabrickie it looks. When I’m done I’ll do an edging to de-curl.

Here is one of the outer panels of the Tunisian Crochet Afghan. It is almost as long as I want it. It’s so long I can’t capture it in a close-up anymore.

Because of the curl, I roll the project up against the curl and store like this.

I know I have a couple other projects but these are the ones I’m trying to concentrate on.

Finishing Friday

Another try at the Sneaker Sock.

This time I used the Turkish Cast-on. But since I think I understand the rest of the pattern now, I think I’ll give it one more try. The next stage is an arch ribbing to keep the sock snug.

I’m happy with the first pair but hope to improve. For the pattern and tutorial click back a couple days on this blog
