Still need about 4 rows of ribbing to finish.
Still need to cast-off for heel hole, then cast-on leg for yoga socks.
This is what took all my time. Milo (the dog, not the cats!😉) made yarn vomit clouds with one skein. I had caked it but after knitting a few inches on my toe-up, two-at-a-time, Fleegle Heel socks for my daughter, and finding they weren’t matching up at all, I frogged the pair, recaked both skeins. Then recaked again one of the cakes (turning it inside out. And hopefully matching up the skeins.

It worked! By the way, the little balls on either side of the mouse was how much I had to waste until they matched.

This is how self-striping yarn skeins should work up. These are my son’s.
Haven’t touched these.
Not these.
A couple songs I’m playing with.
Three more fun songs.
And more fun.
My new music journal. Bigger and better than the last.
It was supposed to be for finances but the columns work for my music practice needs.
Dragon finished!
Now 1/3 into this spooky fun.

I do my Duo while on my stationary bike during the afternoon news.

Well, there’s the hobby progress. Now if I could figure out how to do more on the weekends.

Finishing Friday

This pair is closest to being finished. I could cast-off now but I think I’ll make a longer cuff. This pair fits me. And I’m cold. 🥶
As you can tell, I started these with the lighter blue matching up. For yards it matched. But they aren’t even similar from the markers up. So I think I’m going to frog and see if I can manage to get the stripes to match.  This will  be the second frogging. I hope I can finally get it right.                                    When my daughter gave me this yarn we left the house. Big mistake. Milo found and made yarn vomit out of one of the skeins.                                             It may be the cake reversed the order of stripes.
This is the yarn my son bought for me at the same time that my daughter gave me the light blue yarn. This one is striping properly. This convinces me to frog the blue ones.
When it got cold I lost all interest in the yoga socks. I only need to add a small cuff after the heel hole. Now that I am looking at them, and spring is on its way, I’ll get busy and finish them.
I haven’t touched these for a while. But I love them. So now I can’t wait to play with them again.
Yay! Something finished!
This is next and I kitted-up and already started on the lower right-hand corner. This will be fun.
My mother used to play Rustic Dance and Falling Water below.
Red Sails in the Sunset and Always pictured above were my parents’ songs. For some reason I feel called to (re)learn these. Is it possible those and Time to Say Goodbye (Conte Partiró) are helping the grieving.

I’m back on the treadmill and stationary bike exercise times. Yay!

Friday

The dragon is coming along.
The newest development here: Sammie and Milo on my chair together, like they were last night in my bed.
Sammie and Milo sleep together.

The knitting doesn’t have much progress to show.

Linus and Lucy, page one is improving. It looks so easy! Not if you have no rhythm.🥴

Oh Holy Night is coming along, as is When Christmas Comes to Town. I’m enjoying sight reading all my Christmas songs.

I’m a little concerned as my husband just tested positive for COVID two days ago. He wasn’t doing too badly until this evening. Now there’s a bit of a cough and he’s tired. This means the rest of us are taking precautions.

We finished all of Orphan Black and the sequel. It was fun. Now we are deeply into Stranger Things.

It’s been raining, now it’s so cold! But still no snow. We may still have a white Christmas.

Woke up to Christmas hatching out in the living room. My brother decided it was time to try and see how the furries will deal with trees and decorations.
Our John Deere Santa hanging on the room divider, with mermaid tail looking for a home.
Nutcracker trying to hide the stationary bike.
Dragon coming along.
Challenging piano solos
Nice easy carols, easy font to read. Fun, quick to master.
More challenging less known carols like the Wookiee one.
All 7 pages of When Christmas Comes Around (Polar Express)
Probably the most challenging to me sounds the easiest, Linus and Lucy. And one I want to sing with (and my hands take all my concentration for now) Oh Holy Night.

For next year, I hope I start Christmas music before Halloween. I’d like to be more proficient by this point. And I hope I know those last few songs with very little brush up time.

Oh, in case you need to see how gentle goals help:

I started back to piano last October. The goal: sit and play as long as it’s fun, then move on to something else. At first, I’d only play a song, or five minutes. Today I’ve clocked an hour and a half! And it’s still fun! And I’m not hurting as much as I used to.

Ties waiting for their turn in the light.
The two frogged and reworked. Still not striping up like I’d like.

And a new writing goal: 500 words a day starting today. And work 4 scenes a day on Folie à Plusieurs. But TrackBear is being a BEAR! So I need to find another way to keep track. I did get 637 words in a zoom sprint with Yvensong.

How was your Friday finale?

Sort of. At least had fun.

I think I already shared this.  But glad to move on.✅
Started a dragon.
These will be frogged so I can even up the stripes.
These were as big as those above, but the stripe was so far off I couldn’t deal with it. The balls on the tips of the needles are the froggy bits.

The other socks are sitting quietly until I can get back in the groove.

With NaNo over I’ve made up my mind to write at least 800 words a day to keep the writing muscle activated.🤞

With lots of sight reading of Christmas songs, I ran across this fun ditty. It’s being added to Lucy and Linus, and When Christmas Comes to Town songs to learn this season.

Finishing Friday

He’s done. Need to straighten, seal, frame and send to a friend. I do love him! All-knowing dragon.
One finished, one still on the Flexee fine-gauge loom. White ribbing cuff to go. Probably finishing on the weekend.
Child’s hat nearly finished on ChiaoGoo red-lace circular needles. Another to be finished this weekend. This Fair Isle yarn is so soft.
I couldn’t resist working with the rest of the bamboo yarn. I’m hoping to have enough for a pair of socks. Toe-up Two At A Time on ChiaoGoo red-lace circular needles. 40 inch cable. 1 or 2 sized needles. It’s been a while since I looked at the package. I like the ChiaoGoo cords better than Knitters’Pride. As you can see, 2 toes started
These smaller socks on HiyaHiya Fliers. The one on the right has the beginning of a heel. 20 more rows until the heel on the left sock.
These big socks are still waiting for my learning to German short row wrap and turn. After so many times I feel confident in the decrease part but still shaky about the increase part.
These socks have been tinked so many times I finally laid a safety line. That’s the white yarn. As soon as I get quiet enough I’ll try the heel again. Same as the brownish socks. By the way, these last two are on Knitters’Pride Royale Circular Needles size 5, 47″ cord. I like the wood needle for different, but the cord is twisty and awkward.

Finishing Friday

Birthday gift finished just in time!!!
And it fit!
This guy is coming along.

There are other projects but it’s harder to get them in pics right now.

Just keep doing it
