Your prompt for JusJoJan January 31st, 2025 is “fini.” Find a word that has “fini” in it and use that as your prompt word. Have fun!

Well, that’s easy! It is Finishing Friday! A great way to keep track of hobbies and passions. A way to see progress when, at times, it seems the end is as far as infinity. Row at a time, an inch at a time, a chord played right, or a rhythm that stays where it belongs is fun to keep track of. Many keep track of grievances or pain. I have. I probably will again and again. But I feel more fulfilled if I can see good and beautiful things done from the same place as the bird’s song. It feels right. It gives me pleasure. Not because I am looking for praise. I thank you for that, but it is more for me to feel like I am moving forward.

This felt good as it hit. Some days I do a lot of lessons. For others, I just do the one to get the points. I love languages, so it is fun for me.

The last two hats were for smaller heads. So I decided to make one a little bigger. I just finished the ribbing and started on the basket weave part. It is easier on my hands than crocheting or knitting, so while I am feeling the arthritis, I’m being gentle on the fingers.

My brother’s socks are coming along. Less than an inch to the end of the arch ribbing. Then, an inch to the beginning of the heel. I feel I am at the beginning of the end of this pair.

The middle section of the ‘smiling turtle’ diamond painting is almost done. It is a fun project. I love all the colors.

I have, in all essence, finished this book. Most of it was a review of things I’ve learned all my life, especially as a music major. But toward the end, it started meeting my needs. It has a lot of ways to improvise. I still find myself trying to play every single note rather than play, but I’m seeing ways to do it. I’ll be doing the review for this book soon. Mostly, at this point, I am in love with the last song presented. It’s called Coming Home.

So my favorite songs to play right now are Baby Elephant Walk, Just the Way You Are, God Bless the Child, and Coming Home. They drive me to the piano. I actually spent an hour there today. Remember in the summer or fall when I stated I could barely get five minutes in before pain or boredom pulled me away. Now, I have the joy of actually hearing and feeling the earworms that crawl through my head the rest of the day. My own music!

My ukulele, violin, and recorders sit sadly, waiting for my hands to feel better. I miss the learning process with them.

Well, that’s my Friday report. Fini!

Finishing Friday

Three pairs of socks at different stages. Mostly Chiaogoo  red-laced TAAT Toe-up. The pink socks are on Knitter’s Pride Royal. (Hate! can’t wait to get a better set!)
Hat in progress
Solitrax. My partner watching the Jodie Wittaker Doctor Who. Getting ready for tomorrow.
Still have 800 to add tonight (370 done at the moment)

Making Monday on Sunday

Just in case you think I quit knitting. Here’s what I finished today. Someone I love will get this.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “sap/spa/asp/pas/PSA.” Use one, use them all, use them any way you’d like. Bonus points if you use them all. Enjoy!

PSA: This day has been dedicated to the following hat. Though I ran out of the colorway of the bottom of the hat, I think the one with brown still worked out. If you want details check out yesterday’s blog.

Making Monday

So many socks in various stages. And one hat.

I spent the day tinking these. I’ve started the heel and accidentally had picked up the wrong sock’s yarn.
Finished except for sewing in loose threads.
Hat in the brim stage.
Decided to make a pair on the looms.
I don’t like working on thinner yarn and needles.

The cotton is okay, just boring.

It’s getting late so I’ll leave out the yarn toes and needles, etc .

It was a cold rainy day. They say it’s going to be summer soon. I’ll try to be happy about helping the draught situation.

Finishing Friday

Finished for one of my male offspring.

The dragon is coming along.

So far I only added the black drills.

I’ve been busy. I just wish I was able to be finished with everything at Christmas time. Oh, well the love is there.

All the other projects continue but not enough progress has happened to show in pictures. It’s interesting that my hands prefer knitting to loom knitting. I have to remember to put the needles down and pick up the looms.

Merry Christmas Eve, Eve, Yve.

Ta Da Tuesday

I need a hat for me in all this cold. So I made one. Yay!

It self stripes!
It’s a little too big for the form but fits my head perfectly!
This yarn is soft as butter and seems to knit itself.

I finally got progress on the dragon. There is so much black that I’m checkerboarding to keep it interesting.

Friday Eve

Works in progress.

I don’t know if I am more proud of the hat or finally used all that fuzzy yarn up. The yarn at the top is leftovers. Enough for toys, I guess. I’ll share the finished project tomorrow.
Progress so far.

I’ve only written 412 words so far today. Total in project 4,683. It’s fun so I need to get back to it. The family Pensées is so interesting! I know, it’s all in my head. LOL!!!

Finishing Friday

Making progress. It sure needs straightening.
Received the book inspiring my NaNoWriMo for this year. Lots to do before Halloween midnight!
Kali sleeps while I display the DPN socks. Next I learn to finish the heel. That lesson is on Tuesday. I can’t wait!

Meanwhile, I think I have enough yarn to make one more hat for charity.

No picture of plumbing issues. I don’t want to see it. But my shower is weeks from being done. The floor is finally dry. Now to get rid of the mold that has formed in the wall for years, maybe decades. The plumbing is put together. Once mold free the walls go back up. Meanwhile, I’m sorting

Yes, still letting ‘sleeping dog’ lie. The sock on the left had to be frogged and started over. It seems like no progress but that sock is now past where it was when I had to reknit.
I’ll probably get more done on these this weekend.

Mostly my aim is to have enough characters and a bit of plot on some kinda world. Three days!!!!! Yikes!!!!

What are you working on?

Happy Hat

Just hanging out in the charity bag. I’m totally in love with how it turned out. Circular needles. The decreases turned out pretty, too. I’m getting better with needle-knitting. Of all of the yarning, this hurts least.
