Reading Dragon Diamond Painting is nearly halfway done. This one the glue and dots aren’t easy to line up properly.
Since taping pieces together it is harder to organize. But no messy page-turning.
I plop the piece I finish playing wherever then hop on the next. I’m starting to enjoy the piano again.
No, I’m not making money at this but I’m finding old ledgers are working for keeping track of what I’m doing.
After I play a piece I write the date, and how often I played the piece or section. I’m honest. Sometimes just reflect my thoughts. I even give myself a grade. I’m the only one in class so I judge with how I used to play it, or most recently played. I include my feelings of joy as much as disappointment. I do not write well with the journal in my lap. I can barely see at that distance.
Here’s for my other instruments.
Here are some of my ukulele workings.
And violin. I’m feeling I need more help with violin. Yes, this was a ledger I used for bills way back in 1999.
The increases for the heel are nearly finished. So I may be nearly finished with this pair.
The base of a small basket. The yarn works or artworks don’t seem to journal well. Any suggestions?

I’ve tried to place journals everywhere I can sit. Just in case I want to keep track of thoughts or life. It’s interesting. I’ve never done this but we’ll see how the experiment works.

Two names have popped up as characters for NaNo. It seems the random guys are not so wholesome. Possibly cagey or shadowy. Not my favorite but when you go random that’s what you get to work with. I plan another couple random picks so I’ll be ready for the night of writing dangerously.

I’m thinking with the losses this year I may spend some reflective time for Dia de los Muertos. Maybe a nearby journal will be the place for those thoughts.

Playtime!

Thus Thursday

Sweet Sammy let me scratch his ears.

But Super Sammy wins at the three-legged Spider game. He’s a strong little guy. And will probably be neutered around the 9th of November. We’re still working on the other friendly sibling that is a little darker than him.

Now. I need to bring up one of my favorite things to do in November. Please, I try hard to keep my blog peaceful so I hope not to make others uncomfortable. But… I plan to do NaNoWriMo as usual. I look at it as a competition with only myself. I win no matter if I hit 50K or not just in trying. I believe it is best that way. If another wants to use AI, that’s their business. I feel they are cheating themselves of the amazing creative juices that can flow within.

The other NaNo issue of the forums. I never go there. I find it distracting from the writing process, though an occasional research may send me there. I’m sad to learn that it hasn’t been safe for the young people. The organization says they are working on a better, safer haven for everyone. I’m glad my offspring are middle aged now. It’s such a hard time to raise little ones and it should be up to us, the village, to help kids be safer. By eliminating places to be creative we are making it harder on everyone. Cancel society seems set in cancelling everything. Being aware with love for our fellow beings and speaking up to those who would be harmful to others, I think it’s the only way to learn and grow. I hope that others will join me in the month of writing furiously regardless of where you journal your goals and numbers.

Now I’m behind on reviews again, so I better get busy.

Oh, PS, it snowed a little today, and the trees have lost newly yellowed leaves. Dare we say Winter is here?

Another ponytail holder made with leftover sock yarn.
When I do one more inch of knit stitch it’ll be time for the heel.
An inch and a half of ribbing then an inch of knitting. The heel feels far away.
These slipper socks are easier. The inch or so of ribbing will go quickly. The inch of knitting then heel. This feels close.
My next ponytail holder is a different size of yarn and crochet hook. I hope it works.
Hehehe! The beach is nearly done!

Which brings me to plans. And possible roadblocks.

When the beach is finished I’m setting up an office.  Diamond Painting will need to be put away for a while. I want to start recording my books, podcasting, and writing, and, well, preparing for NaNoWriMo.

Except for Stream of Consciousness Saturday, I have at least three book reviews to write. I feel I need to get at those and get ahead.

Ugh! What I’ve been putting off saying since I typed the title: today my husband tested positive for COVID. We don’t know how or where he caught it but, um, I’m worried. Our home is too small to do much distancing. My brother and son can keep their distance. But hubby and I share a bedroom. We sit about three feet apart in the living room. So…

Maybe I won’t catch it. I am enjoying my schedule of musical instruments, Duolingo, stationary bike, crafts, etc.

So hoping and praying for the best. And my husband’s health. We are 4 shots into the vaccination. So…

Many people found ways to express themselves in 2020. Many of us worked towards being healthier. I was in my 19th NaNoWriMo year. This shirt was for my 30+ pounds extra. It’s still my favorite. It fits like a tent but it’s so comfy.
Since I’ve been NaNoing since 2001, I’ve collected a few shirts. I tried to buy one every year whether or not I won. The light blue was one of the first. Yes, they are wrinkled . But now I’ve folded them up and put back in the drawer they had been wadded into before. The room is dark so I often pick up whatever color calls to me. They are my “play clothes,” not go to town clothes. Sometimes they are sleep shirts.
Here are some of my other favorites. I don’t have a Live Journal anymore but I made everlasting friends there.
Oops! I nearly forgot my newest favorite.
Yes, David is my Doctor.
Oh. And my favorite Halloween shirt. My son and stepson work at Knott’s. Both knew I would ride any ride, but NEVER go to Halloween Haunt. I don’t like people jumping out to scare me. People are scary enough!
This is the back. It glows in the dark. I’m part of the scary people. Imagine being my husband! Love ya, Sweetie! It becomes my night shirt in October and reminds me to start creating characters as NaNoWriMo starts the day after Halloween.
This prompt was brought to us by Linda G. Hill. Go check out her page and join in the Stream of Consciousness Saturday fun. In case you couldn’t tell, today’s prompt was ‘shirt.’

Finishing Friday

Look what I found at BiMart when I went to town last. $14.99 I thought it would be fun to learn.
It is a cheapy but to learn tuning and chords will be fun.
3 more inches to heel turning.
Here’s the nightmare. I was working the socks below on another pair of these. And the joint between the needle and the cord broke. May I advise you, never buy Knitter’s Pride Royal cable needles. The way the cord curls up and tangled with the yarn will have words coming out you didn’t think you knew.
So I transferred from the broken cord and needles to Double ended needles and then to these shorties. I don’t like working socks singularly. Ugh! So I transfered back onto those hateful Royals until my new Chiaogoo red-laced cable needles get here. At least I don’t have to stop working these fun slipper socks.
These I found tucked away and forgotten. But a birthday or Christmas gift is closer than I thought.

I actually started editing the NaNo Empty today. There is more I need to write but going through bit by bit will help me see where parts of the untold story go.

Happy December!

Thus Thursday

Exciting help for writing at 4 and 6 AM as my characters woke me and demanded ‘The End’ and then an Epilogue. Ha!
Yep, I made it! Thanks for all your support! There is still more story I need to write, but now there isn’t that deadline effect. I’ll add more as I edit over the next couple of days.
This is the second hat as part of a couple’s gift I’m working on.

Feeling accomplished and happy.

For your support. Especially, Yvensong who suffered long anxious write-ins with me.

One-Liner Wednesday

To meet my goal, I only need 1,825 words. 👋

Finishing Friday

Three pairs of socks at different stages. Mostly Chiaogoo  red-laced TAAT Toe-up. The pink socks are on Knitter’s Pride Royal. (Hate! can’t wait to get a better set!)
Hat in progress
Solitrax. My partner watching the Jodie Wittaker Doctor Who. Getting ready for tomorrow.
Still have 800 to add tonight (370 done at the moment)

Look what I got done today:

Yarns galore. None being told.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “clown.” Use it as a noun or a verb; use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

So you know I’m not clothing around:

That yellow part is actually light green. I’m pretty happy with them! But time to NaNo!
