Wow! Can you believe we are back to January in a year that can look like this Y2K22? Beginning Just Jot it January, again, a prompt to write on everyday. Today’s blends with the Stream of Consciousness Saturday with the word prompt appropriate for the day, resolve.

Resolve according to Dar’s silly dictionary is to repeatedly solve. Which is how we all continue an insanity every year. Resolutions have been proven unsuccessful most of the time.

My friend and I choose to sit and write out possibilities. Last year I saw a possibility of getting healthier. It took the whole year adjusting eating habits losing over 30 pounds. And Intermittent Fasting has been the best, easiest method of my life.

This year will mean a possibility of more movement. More music making. More art enjoyments. Of course more knitting. But I’m determined to knit socks on circular needles, flippies  or whatever they call those bendy short ones, and I want to learn to use double pointed needles. Right now, loom knitting is fast and I don’t lose stitches. But I am determined to be able to use any of these methods.

I see myself writing more letters and cards. And speaking of writing, I see those many books edited and finding readers.

I see people being kinder to each other. So let’s see if we can make this and more come true!

Per Linda of the prompts:

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “resolve.” Use it as a noun or a verb. Have fun!

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “yum.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

Today was a beautiful Christmas day. I got to use my new Instapot Air Fryer. My husband bought a bag of my yellow potatoes and cut them up according to directions. After spa treatments for 20-40 minutes I layered in two servings into the pot. After twenty minutes my husband and brother had their fries. Then the second round went through for my son and I. Yes, they were yummy but this wasn’t enough, even though everyone had two helpings.

Part two of the meal was far harder than I expected. Four leg quarters, frozen. Sounded easy enough. After all I managed a whole turkey, albeit small for Thanksgiving.

But the quarters were frozen solid in a way that wouldn’t fit the pot. So microwave defrost for more than a half hour. Finally, my husband and I chopped them apart. Once again, I divided the eating teams. Instapotted two while I pulled out my pressure cooker to cook the other two. Instapot was 21 minutes. Pressure cooker only 8. Which should have the insta? Both got the air fry treatment. Both tasted yum! But that dinner left a lot to be desired while using far more kitchen and strength than it should. We will have to rethink how to best use Instapot and air fryer. Mostly I eat salmon and salad or spinach or spring mix. In fact, I haven’t eaten chicken for 40 years. I’m glad we didn’t have company. So, it was a perfect Christmas?

No, really, it was a Wonderful Christmas. I hope yours was, too.

So busy trying to make the opposite sock to this one.

Doubt it will be opened on Christmas.😢 But it’s the love, right? No one spends weeks knitting out of the opposite of love. That results in another kind of sock.

Per Linda:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “opposites.” Use the word “opposites” or write about things that are opposites. Have fun!

Per Linda:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “tree.” Use the word “tree” or write about a tree. Any kind of tree. Enjoy!

When I saw the prompt I planned a whole different stream. I thought it would be about putting our Christmas trees up, today. But it has been so cold and windy that all I could do was knit under the electric lap blanket.

The other topic was going to be about working on my diamond art projects. I did watch a bunch of YouTube videos about how to get started.

The only way this stream hits the word ‘tree’ can only show up is how our trees are bending towards the east from these horrible cold winds. We have been promised snow. But I beginning to feel deceived.

Once it snows it’ll be warmer. The humidity makes everything better.

This was a few weeks of ago. The trees are naked now. I hope they are still standing tomorrow.

Black and white has been the constant of my life. It was the nightmares, yet the bright dreams, too. When earliest memories are of sitting in front of the keys and perfection demanded, black and white. No shades of gray.

Suddenly black and white was a super power. I dreamed my house was piano keys. That I had a swimming pool in my black and white kitchen no gray needed.

Per Ms. Hill:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “black, gray, and white.” Use one, use ’em all. Bonus points if you use all three. Have fun!

Stream of Consciousness Saturday, cam

Cameras haven’t been my thing most of my life. I never liked how I looked. And it was a genetic flaw. My mother had the same issue. Only now do I wish she would have let more photos happen. So now I’m worried that my kids may not have pictures of me for later. And I hope I didn’t pass this malady on to them. I think it is cool that cellphones have led us all to be more about capturing the moments and memories. There are some who might misuse this new power of ours. But for the most part I think it is healthy to see ourselves having fun with family and friends. Hooray for the camaraderie!

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “cam.” Find a word that contains “cam” or use it as is. Enjoy!

This being October 30, I had only two days to prepare for NaNoWriMo and writing another book.

Making my second podcast/vlog  I two days. I tossed yesterday’s because I didn’t understand how to share my screen. Thanks to helpful friends I think I get that now.

Our Zoom session lasted about an hour. Moving it to YouTube is my new problem. I don’t know that I’m up to background music and graphics, you know the whole kit and caboodle.  I will learn as I go.  No need to get fancy. Besides, I’m constantly being booted off because I haven’t saved correctly or some other techish nonsense.

When I  finally get it posted somewhere, I  will share. It is a writing group meet of sorts. We covered a lot of websites, programs and books. As soon as the upload finishes, I need to figure out how to add those.

Just think maybe someday our novels will don your bookshelves.

If I can get past the slow upload. BOO! To slow computers!

Per Linda:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “boo.” Find a word with the letters “boo” in it or use “boo” as is and base your post on it. Enjoy!

In the progression of Fall, today we have had rain and it’s chilly. The trees are nearly naked.

Isn’t it great that we don’t loose our hands, fingers, feet, and toes every Fall. Bare limbs just seem so sad.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “body parts.” Pick a body part and talk about it. Make sure to leave a comment below or put a disclaimer at the top of your post if it’s NSFW! There are people who participate in SoCS and love to support others, but not every one will want to read about private parts. Have fun!

If I hadn’t been working on these:

I might have finished my Inktober drawing and story. Thank goodness for Stream to get a blog published today. And putting off for later what could have been done yesterday and this morning.

Oh, and then. If only I could leave a loom open rather than immediately setting up the next pair of socks, I would have had more writing time. But gifts want to be given.

So I’d have a horse ranch if wishes…

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “if.” Start your post with the word “If.” Enjoy!
