Mending Monday, A-Z

(Stu)diously I’m trying to research and follow gentle treatments for UTIs. It seems to be working. I’m still tired. But the pain is less. I didn’t bike, piano or diamond painting today. I did manage half a row of knitting. But even that was too much. A lot of naps.

But we did get our new sofa delivered and set up. I didn’t take pictures. With the furries we covered it up immediately. But it is nice for extra seating and even sleeping.

Between my daughter, Heather, who gifted us a nice amount for Christmas, my brother and son for putting it together, I feel so fortunate.

Now I need to get past unwell and back to energy.

A to Z Challenge S,T

#AtoZChallenge 2024 letter S
And
#AtoZChallenge 2024 letter T

Straight up, I’m trying to catch up. Still, this causes stress.

Story is ‘Socks’ is my favorite ‘S’ word. Stitches, tidal pools, stars and star fish.

Tuesdays and trying. Striving to be better, smarter. Singing in trios, or solos, spending time with my friends.

Show tunes, swimming, trays full of drills, reading Shogun.

Streaming thoughts. So many things unsaid, the train skipped the tracks.

A to Z Challenge, T

This letter is probably my favorite letter. One of the first is called on Wheel of Fortune, or those kinds of games. It is the first letter of my favorite beverage, Tea! Then there are all the words that don’t start with the ta sound but rather the th sound.

Try to write anything without T. It’s impossible. You notice I haven’t even tried! So I give up. From here on, if you want to count the words starting with T, you may. You have my permission. But hey, if you’re going to try that, count the words with Ts in them. Mind-boggling.

Instead, let me brag. I finally got some wordage in my CampNaNo project, Reflexions. I’m spelling out the number to enhance the T-count. Two-thousand-five words, and I think when I am done with the blog and Duolingo, I will try to add to that story. It is bouncing around in my head, so I need to get it onto the blank screen. By the way, my mermaids are punk-rock! And they are now on the spaceship. As happy as I am with the count of the day, I need a lot more than that to catch up and hit my goal of fifty-thousand by March thirtieth. My crew in the spaceship are trying to help rescue the merpeople’s baby, and cousin left on a planet covered with ultra-black. It is not going to be easy for the team or the writer! I have to figure out how they will win in this impossible situation. My job is to make it harder for them. I should rub my hands together and let out an evil laugh.

After a winter that seemed not to quit, I actually wore shorts and needed the fan today. But as I saw the sunset from inside, I knew I needed to take the picture outside. OMG! It was SO windy and cold I nearly didn’t get the shot. And as cell phone pics, sometimes they didn’t look like what my eyes were seeing. But after a bit of fiddling around, I think I got it close.

It looks to me like half of us are holding up the sky! Go, girls! Oh, it isn’t G-day. There were a couple times today that I thought we might get some thunderstorms, but it only was weird clouds and lots of COLD wind!

Time to go to the rest of my schedule. Hope you all had a great weekend!

What Day Is It Anyway, A2Z Version

Tuesday, right? No that can’t be true. Trash was taken out last night. Today must be Friday. Nope, not a finished Friday. Still working on the two pairs of socks for daughter and her boyfriend.

Oh and Friday Zoomin’ with friends.

I don’t have much more to say. After talking to friends I am chatted out, I think. I hope you are all finding your way in this weird world. I wish you all health. I’m so feeling healthy, just not so talkie. U?

This postcard tickled my creative chops to come out and play.

I named this lady Ora JaJa. Well, today I read the back of the card. Not the wonderful gift of love from a friend, but the print on the card. Now I feel bad as this lady has nearly three-quarters of a story dedicated to her. But this is what I learned as I read the bottom printed part: In The Freedom of Nature–Richard Riemerschmid 1895z I put that in my Google engine and found that picture. There is more water in the Googled picture than I see here. That would have changed the first scene of the novel.

Copyrights and the like are confusing to me. I don’t want to infringe. Since the picture inspired the story do I need to change? Do I look for another similar picture to use as my character picture? I doubt this picture will in any way be a part of the actual book as it was only for my creative jump start. What do you all think of this and what should I do?

Thank you ahead of time for your advice!

Travel Talk

Never is there a time that most holds to the term “captive audience” as traveling in the same car no reception. It could get very uncomfortable with the wrong traveling companions. But it becomes quite the most empowering time with those who are sensitive and caring. It has always been a time for my family to examine the most exciting of topics. Feeling the love in the vehicle, we take turns asking the group questions we might feel uncomfortable asking anyone else in the world. I think my son and daughter were honest and open to the conversation.

My personal question was: What do my adult children need/want from me as a mother now? It is a deep question for me. I read deeply and asked a million questions when I was pregnant or raising my offspring. But there are few books or examples out there now to emulate. I’d love my bloggy friends to help with this question. Anyone have some answers?

Meanwhile, if talk is the best thing to do while traveling through low radio/data reception areas, these people should have been the closest companions ever:

wagon train travelers

Or were there always distractions or other ways that families did to NOT communicate?

This is my attempt at the #AtoZChallenge. I think I am nearly caught up. (fingers crossed)
