The German Midwife by Mandy Robotham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Midwifery made this World War II novel different. And the fact that the main character was German gave another viewpoint of what that war was like. Women still gave birth, often something forced on them. So midwives were necessary.
Mandy Robotham’s novel breaks the rules and makes the reader see the level of life that surrounded and complicated living. Julia Winwood narrates the story. If you like Call the Midwife and other stories like that, this will fill the bill.
I was fortunate to find this on Libby. I hope you get the chance to read or listen to it.
