Finished Friday

I wish I could say I have finished a whole pair of socks. Instead, I have to claim a sock and nearly another, minus the cuff. I think it is safe to say that the pair should be whole by Sunday.

I’m still teaching myself to circular needle knit a pair of toe-up magic circle socks. I’m giving up on the provisional cast-on. I think it isn’t the actual cast-on that bothers me; you aren’t starting at the tip of the toe but farther in. So my blog-friend at Missy’s Crafty Mess   shared her favorite cast-on. It does seem a lot more logical, so I’m frogging those again and trying this instead. Maybe I should call it Frogging Friday at this point?

It was a fun Friends Friday as my buds and I did our regular Zoom get-together. While we were chatting, our weather here went from sunny to a layer of snow. Now it is mostly gone. Sorry to the rest of the country that is getting overloaded with the stuff. We need lots more as our drought continues. But it was fun to watch this out my front window.

One-liner Wednesday

Properly practiced, knitting soothes the troubled spirit, and it doesn’t hurt the untroubled spirit either.

One-liner Wednesday is a Linda G. Hill prompt.

Makings Monday

The looms and needles are busy. This pair of socks I considered my bedroom hobby. If the house was too cold, I could still have something to knit in the warm bedroom. Starting in the same place, same colorway, these two socks are so different. Still, I like the colors. I’m bringing them into the living room because I suddenly find myself drawn to them.

The CinDWood X(WING) loom is down a sock. So I am only featuring three arms of socks.

Here are the finished sock and its mate.

I think these will be my brother’s birthday present. I wish they fit me because they are so soft. But lucky for him, I think they will suit him. I’ll probably have the mate finished tomorrow.

Here are the triple frogged circular needle sock trials. The pink yarn is the provisional cast-on. The red metal thing is the needle holder. I love that little invention. On the cables are two toes. I think that frogging is coming up again as I can’t seem to manage that silly transfer that needs to be done. I shared the YouTube a couple days ago by VeryPink Knits; just look up 2 at a time toe up magic loop to learn how to do this before me. LOL! I don’t mind frogging once again to get the hang of it all the way through. That little bit below took me several days the first time. Finally, I can make a mistake within hours! ;-D

These last two socks I’m playing yarn chicken with. The purple/pink yarn is nearly out, so I mix it up with the blue/green. I kind of like the combo as it reminds me of a sunset over the water. The blue is for the heel and the cuff. There may be enough to make another pair of blue/green socks.

What are you making these days?

No Internet

So no blog today. Just a quickie from the phone on data. Hi all! But

Thus Thursday

Spent the day bingeing and knitting.
I’m rewatching Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Just finished Justine. Meh.

Kim Convenience was different.

Oh, I rewatched Outlander to be ready when the new season begins.

Sock one of four is nearly ready to find a foot.

My circular needle socks suddenly seemed inside out so I frogged and started over. I’ll get it yet. This time I nearly reached the heel part. That’s progress!

How was yours?

One-liner Wednesday

Four at a time socks nearly finished. (I don’t think I’ll knit them on the ‘X-Wing’ again. Too unwieldy)

One-liner Wednesday brought to you by Linda G. Hill.

Finished these:

And tonight I will finish these:

The top ones are so soft and thin, they make my hands and feet melt in coziness. The bottom ones are just in time for the end of winter.

I still have three pairs of socks on looms and a practice pair on my circular needles.

My favorite and most easy break-fast brunch.

Salmon sprinkled with lemon pepper, olive oil, Bragg’s vinegar,  smothered in baby spinach and cheese. Love! Please tell me this is not bad for me.

Sunday Slippers Almost

Tomorrow I will finish the cuffs and put these on my feet. It’s been a bit of a slog while trying to learn to make socks on cable needles and working 7 other pairs of socks on other looms. My hands need the variations to keep from hurting. Otherwise, I might try to stay with just one project until finished. But when one project starts hurting, I put it down and grab another. Progress always happening, just not as fast on any one item as I would like.

Per Linda: Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “flag.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

For quite some time, we have chosen to fly our flag as long as the weather permits. There are so many who think they are American and fly flags other than the one we have saluted since childhood. To me, it seems we need only one flag. The rest is learning to love one another as neighbors, family, and friends.
