Making Monday

My #2 son’s slippers are now to the arch. Chiaogoo red-laced cable needles, 40″, size 8, Two-At-A-Time. Turkish Cast-on, ribbed arch, will have Fleegle Heel.
I don’t know who these will belong to. But heading for the Fleegle Heel. Chiaogoo red-laced cable, 60″, size 1 needles. Because they have finer yarn and needles my hands have to take it slow.
Mediums are harder in this book. But I feel proud not to give up and I still try. Maybe someday mediums will be easier.
Making music still. Still working on Ash Grove. Learning flats. Playing both alto and soprano recorders. One of these days I will be coordinated or brave enough to record my own duets. This book is still quite challenging.
I know, now, the underlined chords. I’m working on the circled ones. My fingers are callused but so uncoordinated.
I’m also learning to play melodies. After decades of piano, I find this non-linear scale tough but fun for my brain.
I am learning scales, too!
Besides Bernadette’s 30 Day plan on YouTube (which is taking far longer!), I’m working in this book, too. Though I’m getting ready to order the next grade up. Maybe not a kid’s version. Suggestions?
A song involving chords and melody. I’m getting better.
Shooting the Curl will be finished tomorrow. I just need to fill the strays, seal and stash away.
12 languages. I don’t work on all of them everyday. But I do most of them most days. Sometimes I barely make it through one. But I only work on things I enjoy. Follow the passion.

Per Linda’s prompt:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “loan/lone.” Use them any way you’d like. Bonus points if you use both. Have fun!

These two words are weird. Though line has ‘one’ that points to feeling so alone, lonely. One never feels so alone as when they feel the need for a loan.

Unless, that is, if one is standing in line at the library.

Even if alone one can never feel lonely while waiting to borrow a book or ten. A loan with excitement and adventure attached.

By the way, Happy Mother’s Day!

One-Liner Wednesday

A truth from this musician with no rhythm.

Cinco de Mayo?

The quail are enjoying the shelter from the mesquite.

I woke up early to the best snow of this year. What? It’s May!!!

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “note.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Let it be noted, that I’m not wanting to write right now. It has been a barometric-changing all day. Windy, rainy, and it’s snowing now.

Yeah. Looks worse than it is. But it is starting to stick.

All of this made my joints hurt and brain foggy.

The foggy brain didn’t think that knitting and tinking alllll day was ergonomically bad. How smart is that?

BUT, I finished the Ukulele strap. So as soon as I finish this note, I’ll pull out the Uke and attach the strap.

Then listen for the chords and strums and licks, and notes.🎶🎵🪈🎸

Finishing Friday

Readjusting an older pair to fit a friend better. Lots of tinking to get to this stage. Two more rows to tink then I need to find a good yarn for the heels and cuffs.
I think these will be mine. Another pair of crazy socks. The next row starts the heels, so the end is in sight.
Shooting the Curl is three/fourths done. I have to turn this upside down next as reaching up hurts.

I’m halfway through the new Sudoku book.

Hey, the part that is the hardest and happiest: I’m learning Imagine by John Lennon. I’m not very good but here’s how I’m learning it.

My fingers have developed calluses but that is bad for recorders because now it’s hard to tell if the little holes are closed tightly so I get more squeaky noises than I did before picking up the Uke. Ah, well, I’m having fun.

That’s not all but all I have energy to report.

Oh, my hair is growing and I’m adding messy bun hairpieces to my short ponytail.

Bless you, Linda, for One-Liner Wednesday

Yay, Z!

I don’t know why this was a tough month. The challenge was extra challenging.

You would think the alphabet could be easy. It’s not been that hard in the past.

But so had Camp NaNo. You want to know how far I got on that goal? Zero. Zip.

Yep, once again editing, writing, and my podcast and piano goals got nothing but yawns. Yippee!

But… Yarn got a lot of attention. Many socks nearly jumped off the needles. I seem to have a lot of zest for knitting.

Oh, well. Zippity Do Dah!

Linda’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “show.” Use it as a noun or a verb. Have fun!

Plus, I think I am on the letter

#AtoZChallenge 2024 letter X

It seems obvious:

Where’s the show?

X marks the spot.

So, I guess it’s a creek of Consciousness. I should at least show I have a mind to follow.

Still, nothing is coming up.

This xes out the whole process. Sorry. No show today.😥

Viewing Shogun all day today was a valiant effort. We binged all ten episodes. So soon after reading (listening) the book, it was interesting to see how well it was interpreted. Now, on Monday, I should receive the older version with Richard Chamberlain. I advise if you can, to read the actual book first. I did in the 80s. But I wish I had read it more recently. But my vision isn’t good enough for the printed volume.

Meanwhile, I have a bunch of socks nearly finished. My hands have been hurting with the weather changes. So not a lot of progress on any of the projects. But here ya go:

Still working the arch.
Getting ready to do cuff and cast-off.
Another cuff and cast-off.
I’m trying to make sure the ukulele strap is extra long because of the curling of Tunisian Crochet.
Almost finished with the bottom fourth. Didn’t even work on it for two days. I miss when I don’t get to play with my diamond painting.

Now off to recorders and ukulele.
