Still kind of tired so the week is going slow. ☹️

I got new glasses.

$15 at Amazon. Blue Light Protection, well, what it says on the box up there. The bottom part is a 3.50 and it gradually goes less. I wish the top was just clear as I still have to glance over the top for farther away, like television. But they help a lot for reading, knitting, and Diamond Painting.

Speaking of which:

Half of the bird is done now. Oh. And I got a QuickStik. Still new at using it but some people love it. I’ll let you know later.

Oh, and using the ruler is wobbly after hitting the middle section of the picture. Again, maybe there’s a learning curve.

My friend gave me new yarn. Are you feeling the giddiness I felt receiving it? Whee! ❤️❤️❤️🤗

And this cotton blend calls to being spa slippers. Couldn’t even keep it off the loom!

I still haven’t climbed back into the editing chair. 😢 Maybe tomorrow or weekend will get me going.

It is slightly warmer lately, but the wind keeps me inside. Even so I’m cold. I’m working on my diet to see if that’s the problem. With some foods unavailable in our stores I’m needing to be creative. Time for some shifting around.

One-Liner Wednesday

Another found on Facebook. There is wisdom to be found.
Thanks, Linda, for One-Liner Wednesday!

I feel better today. Still a little tired, even after 8 hours last night and a nap. You know, as useless as I felt over the last couple days, my hands continued knitting. So that this morning I finished this pair of slipper socks for the charity.

KB His sock loom. Kitchener cast-on, flat knit stitch, German short-row heel, more flat knit stitch, 2 by 2 purl/knit ribbed cuff.

I managed a bit of Diamond Painting before a nap took me.

From top to nose level of the dragon. A little lower on the right side. I can’t wait to see the bird done. Maybe tomorrow.
This is all that was left of the yarn I made the slipper socks from. I’ll probably use it in a toy.
So I found another cake of soft white yarn to start another pair. I think I’ll use the white for toes and heels. There probably isn’t enough for a whole pair.

Zero Energy

For the last two days I feel like I’m out of batteries. It might be the

Sleep last night.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “trip.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

Remember the way the kids would joke if you stumbled? “Have a nice trip?” Yeah. I never thought it was funny unless I recovered and could laugh at myself.

Most of the America’s Funniest Videos seem to be based on that joke. Hopefully, the victim recovered and made a little money from it. But still, I think we all stumble and fall. I think when we get hurt it is worse. Then it is more than scrapes. For the socially shy, each trip takes the person down the rabbit-hole of shame. Trip=bad.

Taking a vacation elsewhere. Oh, how I long for one of those. But lack of funds, COVID-19, now gas prices, that kind of trip is out.

If you are a child of the 60s, a Baby Boomer, taking a trip, trippin’ had a different meaning. I feel weird as I never did. I was too afraid of my mom to try. But about everyone I knew did and told me about it.

Then there was Captain Trips… Brings 2021 full circle!

I have wonderful memories of vacation trips and a marvelous cruise to Alaska. Now, that was a nice trip!

Stream of Consciousness, my fav kind of trip!

A little snow yesterday. -1 last night. We still had snowy patches today. Too cold. Tomorrow windy. And too cold. If you’re not going to be a pretty winter let’s get on with spring! I’m tired of being cold.

Meanwhile, I stay occupied.

This was where I was on Wednesday.

I decided to try the ruler.

Game changer! The symbols are easier to see and drills go on straight. It is fun as you hear a little click as the drill clears the ruler and sticks to the canvas. You can see the difference. The top of the picture I did freehand. The bottom, I used the ruler.

Because I don’t have to strain my eyes or back using the ruler, I got a lot more done.

I’m so jazzed I can’t wait to Diamond Paint tomorrow!

Just a word about the sunset beach. My brother helped me learn a way to mix colors to get the perfect frame. Problem was I ran out of the mix. The second try just didn’t match. I was told to add water and it got runny. So I let it dry. I’ll attack tomorrow. Finished Friday will have at least one item!

One-Liner Wednesday

One-liner Wednesday is brought to us by Linda G. Hill.

Way to Go, Linda. Eight years of Streaming Consciousness Saturday!

Sometimes in a person’s life they need more ‘atta girl’s. Not always. Sometimes just everyday keeps us going. But I have found that when I feel least alive and I can’t find motivation for even breathing, I need to stop and take stock of my day, week, life. While it is nice when others congratulate me. I find my own boost in saying, “Look at that! Look what you survived, created, loved!”

This blog has been that for me. Day-to-day can be dull. Downright angsty. Especially these last two years. So I am learning to see small accomplishments. Not earth-shattering wins. But things that make me smile and feel alive.

Today’s win is I ran out of Haven 2 to edit. There were 52,053 words altogether. There was no ‘the end’ and quite a few undeveloped characters, scenes, and plot bunnies to work on. I have a better working title: Haven, Above, Beneath, Beyond. My next step is to work toward 60k a full story, minus stuff that needs to be deleted.

Sorry. Not sorry. Just didn’t finish the Sunset Beach. There was only straightening, sealing, and painting a frame, but for me the straightening is the hardest. Hopefully, tomorrow I’ll ‘gird my loins’ and face it.

The socks are nearly finished. Just putting on the ribbing.

And it looks like I’ll have just the right amount of yarn for both socks.

Editing/reading first round is nearly done. I’m happy that I almost doubled my goal for February. I set up this months’ goal as just finishing. Though the project has nearly 58k I set the goal (extended last months’ goal) to 60k. That will encourage me to write a couple thousand to build a few characters up.

Sorry cell picture of the computer screen doesn’t do well. But hopefully, you can read it. I have 45,190 in my project so it seems an easy goal.

Beautiful Sunset

I wish my phone captured these as my eyes see them.
