Ta Da Tuesday

I knew I’d finish the slipper socks today. Yay! I am happy they are slightly too small. I love how soft they are. I’d be tempted to write them off for me. 😏

I can’t remember what this yarn is called. It’s great for baby things, especially blankets.

I used a KB Flexee Fine-gauge loom divided into 2 40 peg looms. Though I used a Kitchener cast-on, I wouldn’t do that again. This yarn breaks too easily to do the pulling needed to make the toe. I think for slippers I would use a drawstring cast-on. You don’t have to pull so hard to form a toe.

A Flat-knit stitch was used for most of the sock. German short-rows formed the heels. Then I continued the flat-knit stitch for another six inches.

I chose not to do a two-by-two ribbed cuff because this yarn doesn’t work well with fancy. And I was so distracted I couldn’t keep track even though the loom was marked for it. I think the roll down ankle cuff will be nice for someone.

I’ve grown to love the crochet cast-off though it can be hard to lift the loop off the peg with the loom-knitting tool to catch onto the crochet hook. One distraction and I could lose the stitch or break yarn or lose track of where I left off. Especially with this yarn.

There was enough yarn to at least start the brim of a hat. The two 40 peg looms together make a large 80 peg loom for an adult hat. As I said, this yarn doesn’t rib well so I’m hoping to do a fold up brim. I don’t know if I have enough of this for a full hat. But if not I’m sure there’s something in the charity yarn I can finish with.

Always a bit of an adventure in the world of yarn!

#Making Monday

Because I don’t like sarcasm or facetious remarks, I’ll forgo the #JusJoJan for this last day.

I don’t know if I shared the black painted “framed” *TARDIS in Starry Night.

Didn’t get the whole picture but I think you get the idea. Now I need to pick up some Command Strips to hang it on the wall.

Here’s a little for those who haven’t crossed paths with Doctor Who.<— Wiki

Here is the progress on my newest diamond project. In five days I’ve manage the lower right, of the sandy beach of Beach Sunset. The whole preview on the right. Sideways. This one is worked horizontally and sideways. I need to use the straightener to get my lines more even.

The slipper socks are nearly finished. I’m still working the cuffs.

What are you working on?

Done with the dots and Mod Podge. Tomorrow, black paint framing.

Yesterday, I kitted up the new project.

Here’s the preview and key.

The ‘diamonds’ come in little packets. With this project it’s even better as they are in little ziplock bags. The numbers correspond to the key on the canvas.

One side of cellophane bag.
The other side.
I have these containers that I think are less dumpable. So I labeled per key.
Progress so far.

And knitting is still keeping me out of trouble. This pair going to the charity. I’ll give the play by play when finished.

So soft. I wish they fit me! Not really. I feel good that someone might feel more comfortable in their life.

My mission for Fridays is to have something accomplished. Some weeks I don’t even come close to a finished product. This week, there are a few things I’m proud of. Even though close is all I got.

Probably will finish tomorrow on another scrappy slipper socks for charity, using up some small skeins.
Only a couple empty ‘drill’ spots. I’ll do those before bed. Tomorrow I will ‘Mod Podge’ and paint the border. Then I will look at my next project. Try painting? Sunset beach Diamond Painting? Rock painting? So many artsy-fartsy things to try!
Finish of a perfect day, including a mile walk with Kali.

Now I just need to find music time!

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 21st, 2022, is “mission.” Use the word “misson” any way you’d like. Have fun!

In the moment, I feel uninspired. In the moment, I feel accomplished.

Another pair for charity.
The next pair toe to foot.
In the moment, I wish I had a TARDIS I could fly away on. But that might take energy and/or inspiration as to where or when to go. Instead, in the moment, I prefer to be knitting or Diamond Painting.

Enjoy your weekend! I’m enjoying mine!

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “In the.” Start your post with the words “In the” – that’s the prompt! Enjoy!

Wow! Can you believe we are back to January in a year that can look like this Y2K22? Beginning Just Jot it January, again, a prompt to write on everyday. Today’s blends with the Stream of Consciousness Saturday with the word prompt appropriate for the day, resolve.

Resolve according to Dar’s silly dictionary is to repeatedly solve. Which is how we all continue an insanity every year. Resolutions have been proven unsuccessful most of the time.

My friend and I choose to sit and write out possibilities. Last year I saw a possibility of getting healthier. It took the whole year adjusting eating habits losing over 30 pounds. And Intermittent Fasting has been the best, easiest method of my life.

This year will mean a possibility of more movement. More music making. More art enjoyments. Of course more knitting. But I’m determined to knit socks on circular needles, flippies  or whatever they call those bendy short ones, and I want to learn to use double pointed needles. Right now, loom knitting is fast and I don’t lose stitches. But I am determined to be able to use any of these methods.

I see myself writing more letters and cards. And speaking of writing, I see those many books edited and finding readers.

I see people being kinder to each other. So let’s see if we can make this and more come true!

Finished Friday

Oh, and Freezing Friday. Here’s our porch light as proof. It’s creepier at night but too cold and icy to step out to take a picture.

These finished and the next already started.

Kitchener cast-on, white toes cinnamon foot, white heel and cuff.

A very satisfying finish was the series Lost in Space.

Now back to Season 13 of Doctor Who.

Oh and here’s to the finish of this horrid year

See you next year!

Ta-Da Tuesday

Wow! It’s already a Tuesday! This week has been BUSY!

A pair getting ready for their heels.

More Diamond Painting happened. I’m so happy my friends got me into it.

Haircutting is calling. This bob is getting to me. Maybe another pixie?

26 degrees and snow tonight. Tomorrow night single digits. Glad our bedrooms are warm!

Making Monday

And other tidbits

These are turning out fun.

Watching Dash and Lily. So cute.

A Boy Called Christmas grabbed me with the cute boy and talking mouse.

Started watching Tick, Tick, Boom. I’ll try to watch tomorrow.

It has been so cold (high of 22) that we spent most of the day in the bedroom. I did manage about an hour out in the living room. And another hour on Diamond Painting. Oh, my living room time was watching Lost in Space. DP time listening to Les Miserables. 75% finished. It’s long even on Audible.

Back to Dash/Lily and knitting.

Sunday Slipper Socks

I think these will be cozy on somebody’s toes.

Kitchener cast-on done on the left, nearly done on the right. Black yarn nearly gone. Another pair of scrappy slippers in progress.
