Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “starts with mono.” Find a word that starts with “mono” and use it in your post. Enjoy!

Mono Lake is one of the most enchanting places on Earth. On a solo drive from Southern California to Reno it captured my imagination during a rest stop at sunset. I wish I had taken pictures. The tufa looked like fairy castles and the little flies were the fae. Please click on the underlined Mono to see a bit of wonder. As I pulled into the scenic view “Time to Say Goodbye” was playing on my Camry’s CD player.

My favorite song, I think.

Here’s another view of Mono Lake:

Be glad I chose not to tell you about my non-kissed mononucleosis. The lake is far cheerier !🤪

Finished Friday

Yay! Son and SO made it to my house! Finished his socks!

Here is the YouTube I followed loosely.

She makes it easy!

I used Knitters’Pride Royale Circular Needles 40″ size 6 (I think–I’m not in the same room as the needles right now.) The yarn was a bulky superwash wool. I think these turned out too big. But I think they’ll shrink. They will be warm slippers.

Oh, and I discovered a cool bind-off.

Just a quick personal note. Knitters’Pride Royale Circular Needles are harder for me to work with than ChiaoGoo red-lace circular needles.

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 26th 2023, is “family.” Use the word “family” any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Family. Probably the biggest blessing of my life. And that includes immediate, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and my non-blood family, friends.

Sure, there have been tough times. But overall I feel richer in love and life for every one of them!

And most oftentimes I find love for the humankind family. Most of you fit in that category. We’re all spinning in space together, fam.

Just Jot it January 2023, and it’s brought to you by Carol Anne. Thank you, Carol Anne! Please be sure to visit Carol Anne’s blog to read her post and say hello. And follow her while you’re there, if you’re not already.

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 15th 2023, is “gratitude.” Use the word “gratitude” any way you’d like. Have fun!

Gratitude grows with age. At least it has for me. From the days of birthing babies until they grew into wonderful adults that feeling of lucky and blessed has grown with them.

Now having just turned 73, I find so much in every hour to be grateful for. I think I’m most thankful that I am still learning every day. But health seems to be growing and my life is full of love. What more could one want?

For all of you!

Friendship is a fun word. I picture my friends and I on a cruise of life. Sometimes we’ve been in the thick of it dealing with the weather clouding our lives. Other times we’re on that adventure cruise, maybe a Disney type with so much adrenaline going sleep wouldn’t happen for days.

Some friendships are the sunset gazing, philosophical. Others musically harmonic. Still others were bonded with games or writing. Or yarn!!! So many overlap. Submarine or sailboat?

I have been so blessed with the many friends and the ships we’ve sailed together. Happy sails to all of you!

The sweet people of the world don’t get enough credit. That person who helps you out with an order gone wrong, Amazon, last night. They walked me through and within minutes we were whole.

Sweet medical staff that explain and even hold your hand in the scary times.

That sweet pup or kitten that snuggles when you’re feeling low.

These are the sweets allowed. I hope to be sweet for others when I can. It’s a great people goal. We all need times to say:
